It’s a perfect loan move away Says Cardiff City player:

Fri Sep 06, 2024 10:40 am

Kieron Evans 23 years old in 2 mths.

One of the most weirdest new contracts I have ever seen our club do after Evans has not progressed to Championship standard.

Kieron Evans was given a new 1 year contract by Cardiff after being sent out 2yrs running on loan to Non League Clubs , then sent out on loan for a year to League 2 Newport County ?????

Kieron Evans:

“It’s the perfect loan move to Newport County.”

The midfielder has joined the Exiles on loan for the season, and is keen to catch the eye at Rodney Parade, particularly with his contract in the capital coming to an end next summer.

“It’s my first time in League Two. I spent two years in the Non- League , but I was ready to take the next step. It’s about gaining experience and pushing myself to reach a new level.”

“I’ve got my first goal now, so I hope to get more, play more games, and support the team as much as I can. “

“I believe this is the perfect club to help me develop my game. I know a few lads who have played here on loan and have gone on to have successful careers, and I hope to do the same.”

Maybe he might leave on his contract expiry, move to a league one club and score a hatful of goals, get called up for wales and then we will wish he was still with us.

Neil,

So where will Our Club Cardiff City Benefit from that?

Your club you support benefited from us paying Mark Harris for years and then off he went.

Nothing wrong with loaning young players out as game time is the best way to gain experience and improve.

However, if the club believe in these players, these contracts should be longer. If Evan’s for example, comes back a much improved player or Newport want him permanently, Cardiff can then sell and make some sort of money off the player. If Cardiff see him good enough for the squad, then you can keep and make a further decision from there.

Unfortunately, Cardiff have not done this well, and looks like we are losing young players following useless contracts with no laid out plans for any scenarios.

It’s amateur.

My point is that he should actually get a chance at Cardiff.

Been saying this for a long time on here - These players should be going to Newport and not non league / welsh league .

I know we are only allowed to loan so many players to 1 club - but work with clubs within in the leagues .

Well of course Neil,

Why give him a new contract and then send him out again for the whole of the contract.
