Central striker James Crole, 20, given away by Cardiff City

Fri Sep 06, 2024 2:43 pm

Central striker James Crole, aged 20, given away by Cardiff City three months ago.

James Crole was City’s top scorer for the U21’s.

Peny-Y-Bont immediately signed Crole as a free agent.

Crole has fired three goals in just five Wales Premiership League games for Pen-y-Bont which has taken them to the Top of the League.

He is already attracting FL scouts, from Birmingham City, Stoke , Swindon and Reading who have all been to watch the Striker.

Hope Cardiff haven't cocked up here.

Crole was really fancied to make it into the Bluebirds first team.

If I was Darren Purse I think bring him back into the fold most certainly in the January window???

If he's made a mistake then I agree annis bring him back to our club ASAP!

The only worry I have is the Welsh league is of very poor standard in respect of the championship, so he might be performing better than he would in this league.

Having said that it would knock me sick if he joined say Birmingham banged in loads of goals and then they make a crazy amount on him.

I get what you're saying but where is the line? When do we say not good enough & wish them good luck? Once we've done that we can't then cry or stamp our feet because they went elsewhere & banged in a load of goals. No good saying we should have kept a player & the club is useless every time they go & start scoring, we just weren't suited to each other.

At the end of the day someone has to make that decision and won't always be right, that's life.

Let’s make our minds up here?

One minute we are saying these players are being sent to clubs which are not good enough the next they are??

He was let go because he wasn’t good enough and I’ve seen it mentioned on here about Players going to Penybont as not good enough.

Now we have an ex player scoring 3 goals and he appears brilliant? Come on make your minds up and stop clutching at straws.

Let’s going something straight.

I don’t rate the Welsh League one bit.

But this is personal. Purse disliked Crole and their was a fall
Out.

Also all the rubbish you give I Governor is pure crap and you make a fool out the man , as nothing comes true, so stop spout your shit.

I bet there are posters on the Norwich City forum having a go at their club over Michael Reindorf.

You win some, you lose some. At some point the clubs need to make decisions, maybe it's style, maybe you have a surplus of that type of player. One ended up at the base of the pyramid whilst the other ended up in the same league closer to the first team.

Cardiff City Academy and aged grade teams are well scouted, recent history shows that. Other clubs would have had a file on Crole, but no one took a chance. I don't know his circumstances perhaps he just wanted a season close to mam and dad and take it from there.

At a much higher level, Man City sold Cole Palmer because they deemed him not good enough. Would they have him back now ? I bet they would. So even the best clubs make wrong decisions, not that I think City have in respect to James Crole.

Was told it wasn’t down to how he played on the pitch as to why we let him go
