BULUT? OR WARNOCK? TODAY.

Sun Sep 08, 2024 12:50 pm

Just wondering if we could swap them tomorrow,
how many would stick with bulut,
and how many would vote to go back to hoofball under warnock
Not that is going to happen but interesting to see how many are not happy with the "new " more modern style of playing out from the back,
but imo we never get it out from the back thats buluts problem it spend at lot of 90 mins in our own half

We where all glad to get rid of the hoofball under warnock at the time,
but it was direct,
infact i thought warnock played better football than mad mick mc carthy who really was full on hoofball,
warnock actually used the wingers well holliet and lang,
he just moved the ball from the back quicker than our current style.

Lets hope for a complete change at derby sat.

Warnock retired - wouldn't come back and supporters might see that as regressive.

Yes - I think Warnock would get us winning matches.

Sadly Monty, I think there's next to no chance Bulut will move away from what he knows. He may change the line up but the rigid tactics will remain.

I'm sure he wants to keep his job though but we'll find out how much soon enough.

I am not one who wants Warnock back but given a choice between the two I would far prefer him to Bulut.

And I don't think its true to say we were " all pleased to see the end of Hoofball under Warnock." I agree that in the Premier we played this style but we had no choice as we didn't have the players to compete playing anything else. Of course we used the long throw to good effect but as we had Patterson, Gunnarson and Morrison we would have been daft not to. But it wasn't Warnocks usual natural style.

Warnocks style of play has been much maligned on this site. People have short memories. The side that took us up certainly were not hoofball. In the first half of the season in particular we played great football, outclassing sides such as Villa, Leeds and Sheff Utd, who were all fancied to do well with a combination two wingers and a striker who were on fire, a team that not give the opposition a moment on the ball or "the press" as its now become fashionable to call it ( it was not a recent invention by Premier League clubs as MOTD seem to imply.) and an ability for most of the side to get on the scoresheet.

I know it helps when you win, but apart from David Jones side that promotion side played some of the best football I have seen for years.

As i alluded to
warnock did use the wings well and moved it out from the back,
it was others that gave his style name hoofball not me at the time
I wish we could have some exitment in our play under bulut but sadly it seems to be getting worse.

I enjoyed our time with Warnock but I wouldn't trust him with my meagre bank account never mind millions of pounds to spend on players so he's a no from me.

i was not advocating we bring back warnock,
but how much we would we prefer the style of either, i personally have never been so bored watching city this season more than any other after been so optomistic and enthusiastic to a season starting and my bubble has burst
and a lot of my mates saying what the f.ck are you following cardiff for,
cr.p football
and i have no reply apart from the obvious.

Understand the money thing,
but it was more about how we all feel under the current and our time when warnock was here and which we would choose football wise.

Not a fan of Bulut but will choose him over having that corrupt bloke back at the club.

Don’t want him to ever ever come back into football management.

I just wouldn't want him near the club even though I enjoyed it when he was here & I don't think you can separate the man from the football.

Hypothetically speaking, Warnock knew how to grind a result,,, just like Malky Mackay before him.

Hypothetically speaking, I’d like Craig…… ?

Fair enough I can see that you do give credit to Warnock style of football and seem to be saying that the football was a bit exiting. You may not have called christened it hoofball yourself but its almost become a standard way of describing Warnocks regime and the more it is used the more the myth grows.

I entirely agree with your view on Buluts football. Its awful and losing us games. We have decent players but they are not being allowed to play. This continual passing out from the back is ludicrous. We are lucky if we get within 10 yards of the half way line before someone loses it- Siopsis usually and we back on the defensive. So ponderous.

Warnock was brilliant for us and somehow managed to get a ragbag of free transfers and turned them into a team that won promotion

But that was a decade ago and times have changed and he well into his seventies so wouldn’t be able to do it again

I want Bulut to succeed but I have my doubts. This is a good bunch of players and I honestly believe a decent manager would get them somewhere near the playoffs not sure that man is Bulut though!!

Re: BULUT? OR WARNOCK? TODAY.

Sun Sep 08, 2024 6:24 pm

Warnock without a doubt.
Although suggesting he only plays ‘hoofball’ is a little unfair to him.
Yes he plays direct, but what’s wrong with that? If you play with the ball down the other end of the park, you’re less likely to concede. Get it away from danger.
I’m sure given better quality players at his disposal who are more comfortable on the ball and can pass and move, then Neil would play to the players strengths. His man management skills far exceed anything Erol could ever hope to do.

We have a brilliant squad, both young and experienced full of talent. We just need someone who’s tactics can get them performing.

Why not go for Dave Jones whilst we're at it?

Getting Warnock back would be a CardiffCityIsm and a half.

Neither the club need to move forward, not backwards.

Would have Warnocks style back tomorrow if we had fast wingers and the players to get the ball quick to them , without a doubt , it got us to the premier .
This boring shit this season is just getting worse , not much hope for derby and dreading Leeds

I didn’t want Bulut from the start and nothing has changed.

The sooner he’s gone the better. But he’s Dalman’s mate, so we will cling onto him as long as possible.

Thankfully Dalman doesn't have that authority like Tan does.

I'm 100% convinced Bulut won't be here by the next break.

I really hope you are right. We should have left him Turkey in the summer.

Tan is not convinced by Bulut, this is all on Dalmans head, and it should be coming out of his own pockets to pay up his contract.

The freighting thing is, It's going to be Tan's go next to pick the manager.

It's all a power struggle between those 2.

Trying to prove which one can pick the better manager. :laughing6:

It's a mess.
