Has Dalman improved …….. ?

Last summer Dalman came out and made a statement on how he hadn’t been giving the role 100% the previous couple of seasons, and how that was going to change and he would be more prominent in his role etc etc

Certain posters fell for it and I was labelled all sorts when I said that I didn’t understand why supporters were falling for it and that it was all spin, it was even suggested that I wasn’t a city fan….. !?

Fast forward a season and the worst start in 35 years, where is Dalman ? Where is the engagement ? As a fan I cant see what he has done different over the last 12 months than he did the previous two seasons.

He is the chairman of our club, he must know that fans are not happy with the spin of top 2 or at least playoffs when the club did not get the calibre of forwards needed in the summer, couple that with the starting performance surely he should be addressing the fans and portraying calm, he must see that the city is a tinder box at the moment with the fans as low and as unhappy as they have been since the rebrand ?

Do you think he is doing a good job ? Or do you think we should have had a statement at least by now regarding the start of the season ?

Have to admit I fell for all of Dalman’s spin last summer, but never again.

We have signed a few decent players like Robertson, El Ghazi and Daland but no suggestion he is taking the job more seriously than he said he did before.

Funnily enough its about 12 months before that became public (timing fits) that he was saying he hasn’t given the role 100%

Which is clear he still isnt as isnt at the club full time.

We need a fully time (football) Chairman, and a DOF, and us and Tan would see a massive improvement within just 3 transfer windows (18 months) but until that happens will continue to do the same and be a mid to lower championship club.

I fully understand if Dalman is keeping a low profile at the moment.

I think it's clear from the time it took to sort out Bulut's contract over the summer that Tan had serious reservations about giving him a further contract but no doubt was swayed by Dalman (and maybe a little by all those singing about how they wanted him to stay whilst relegated Rotherham were ripping us a new one) into giving him a two year deal.

Common sense would have suggested that Bulut should have gone at the end of last season. As he's Dalman's buddy it's not surprising that Dalman is keeping his head down at the moment.

Unfortunately Tan has painted himself into a corner with this one and should not have let himself be persuaded by Dalman to extend Bulut's contract.

Spot On about TG - I have been saying for years on here that things have not been the same since TG left .

Dalman did impress me last seasonand on the pitch things look good with us in a top 6 place.

Then it went wrong and nothing happened to stop the rot. So whatever credit Dalman got then has vanished into the death of valley. Perhaps thats where he is now.
