TEAM VS DERBY : I do believe that true to

TEAM VS DERBY :

I do believe that true to his word , Bulut will be making ‘big changes’ .

The changes may involve up to 7 players …..but I believe it will be 5 …..and mainly to the attacking players. However , there will be no change to the formation ….which will remain at 4-2-3-1 .

All in all I expect that he will set up the team to play the same way ….but the actual players chosen will be more attack minded .

Here is my guess or analysis :

(1) GK : I believe it is 50/50 . Horvath is the better player ….but he does not always put a 90 minute shift …and will sometimes make erratic decisions . He has also been given the chance and has shipped in 10 goals. Alnwick is more steady and consistent and gives the defenders more confidence .

(2) C1/2s : They will definately be Chambers and Goutas ….who else? Fish may be on the bench - but will not come on barring injuries.

(3) RB : Definitely NG ….who else ?

(4) LB : It is going to be between O’Dowda , Collins and Began . Unless he is dropping Willock ….I believe Bulut will pick O’Dowda . However , if it is me - I will move O’Dowda to the wing.

(5) CMF : It will be any two from Robertson , Ralls and Siopis . Robertson is a definite …..and I believe he will go for Ralls.

(6) RW : Meite is a definite non-starter. It will be between El-Ghazi and Tanner. I believe he will go for El-Ghazi ….mainly because of experience and quality and because Tanner is a great impact player off the bench.

(7) LW : It is between Willock and O’Dowda . Personally , I would move O’’Dowda to show what he can do ….and he can do real damage.

(8) No. 10 : It will be between Colwill and Turnbull . There is a good case for either. I believe ….hmm…. Bulut will start with Colwill (partly because of the pressure from the fans) ….but Turnbull is no slouch and is definately more consistent.

(9) No. 9 : I believe he will start with Robinson ….with Kanga dropping to the bench .

Conclusion : Yes big changes . Chambers , Goutas , NG and Robertson are definite ….. so is O’Dowda ….but the question is where will O’Dowda play ?

Good analysis there Annis. Sadly, I think the tactics will be similar to the dross we've been watching since November last year. I'm not sure the leopard (Bulut) can change its spots.
I hope I'm wrong!

Thank you, but i really hope not, Bulut surely is not that thick to stay with his negative football.

4 games. 1 goal scored, 10 conceded.

If he hasn't gone back to the drawing board over this international break, then there's problems.

I think we have options all over the pitch, other than RB. That seems to be NG or no-one, really. LB options are poor.

I'd like to see Horvath out for Alnwick. Bagan in at LB. Only ONE sitting/holding midfielder. Robertson & Colwill to start.

I’m quite excited to see you see what he does, I’ll be extremely disappointed come Saturday at 14:01 probably

He has to change,

He needs to make these changes, the fans won’t stand for it anymore and Tan won’t either.

This is a must win game before Leeds.

Cheers Simon,

If he has any real common sense changes will be made.
He has actually through injuries been forced to change this team for tomorrow.

It will be interesting to see what and who he changes. I don't think he's got the balls to make drastic changes, just obvious ones. Assuming Daaland is still injured, I think he'll go with the following:

GK - Horvath (but I wouldn't be surprised if he pick Alnwick, it's an easy change)
RB - NG
CD's - Chambers & Goutas
LB - Could be any of the 3 but again an easy change here if Collins is match fit
CM - Siopis & Ralls (Robertson has been subbed around 60 mins in his last 2 starts which makes me think he may be one of the players Bulut was reffering to)
No10 - Turnbull (I don't think he trusts Colwill)
LW - Willock
RW - El Ghazi (Another easy change as he should be fit to start now)
ST - Robinson (Another easy change)

Tactics and formation will be the same, I don't think he knows any other way of coaching.

I would go with the following:

Alnwick
NG Chambers Goutas Bagan
Ralls Robertson
Tanner Colwill El Ghazi
Robinson

Colwill and Tanner link up so well on the right, if one starts the other has to.

Anyone else think that O'Dowda is a better winger than Willock?

From what I’ve seen so far I’d have to agree. More of a threat

Good read and good analysis. Here's mine below. Not what Bulut will do, but what I think he should if we are stuck on 4 2 3 1

GK - Horvath (he has stuck with Horvath even after the blunder at Burnley. I don't have complete confidence in either of our keeps playing out from the back.

LB - Bagan (I feel that COD is wasted at left back. He Is one of our more creative players and will look to attack given the chance if played in the right position)

CB x2 - Goutas & Chambers

RB - NG

CDM x2 - Robertson & Siopis ( Robertson for obvious reasons, Siopis purely because Ralls is only just coming back from injury)

LW - COD (not saying Willock is a bad player, he's been decent for us but I think COD is a better option)

CAM - Colwill (Deserves his chance. Needs a run of games. I wouldn't have Ramsey anywhere near the number 10 right now even if he was fit.)

RW - El Ghazi

ST - Reindorf (has looked very good when he's been seen. Abundance of energy and is a right pest for defenders to deal with. Can't go any worse than our attacking record so far. Why not try him?)

Wishing it was 3 at the back and a 3-4-2-1. Assuming its still 4231 the only formation he knows. Its Bulutball wether a more attacking version or not. To introduce big changes now, is actually trialling, experimenting, and exposes just how poor a manager he is when he had pre season to try such things, at least hes had a domestic break to work on things, I just hope 'big changes' relates to formation and not just personel. Can Erol Bulut actually prove us all wrong and play without 2 holding midfielders and an isolated striker? Not a 4231? Over to you EB, you have given us no indication that you can.

Better press, less sideways passing and tippy tappy between keeper and CDMs, set pieces really need to becloser to the standard of last season.

Alwnick over Horvarth

Ng big improvement needed, Bagan in, O Dowda pushed up. Gutted Daland still injured. Have thought about him as potential in a midfield role

Siopis a big no from me, Turnbull I am very underwhelmed with, King I would prefer. Whoevers in the middle, one stay/one go when attacking, we need to get more bodies on the edge of and in the box

Willock I want to see more from, ability appears to be there, early days but unsure, El Ghazi second half Meite a gigantic no

Rubin has to start, and given a run, more importantly, told to not come deep and to stay in the final third as close to Robinson as he can, but wander around the fringes keep them guessing, focus on your offensive game, bring one of the CDMs into play. Even thought of Rubin in a shadow striker mode.

Would love to see Reindorf come on second half, even better play alongside Robinson/Kanga

Alwnick

Ng
Goutas
Chambers
Bagan

Ralls
Robertson

O Dowda
Willock
Colwill

Robinson

Agree re Reindorf, give him a go! Hope Ralls is fit to start so we can drop Siopis
