A forum for all things Cardiff City

Following on from the Erol Bulut thread, I'll ask the following question to see what everyone thinks.
If Vincent Tan were to go, who would take over the ownership of our club?
Now this is no way a pro-Tan thread as it seems we are going nowhere under the current regime but has anybody got any genuine suggestion as to who would have the willingness and the huge financial capability to take the club forward.
And please don't include Sam as Tan has made it clear that he would never sell to him under any circumstances so whether you would want Sam back or not he can't be included in the conversation.
So - assuming Tan decides he's had enough and decides to get out, who would you like to take over that's realistic?
Have there been serious investors close to takeovers in the recent past who've been willing to invest but been put off by VT'S ridiculous asking price?
Could we end up with owners like the Venkys or the yanks at Swansea or could we attract megabucks owners who have enough football knowledge to appoint football people and let them get on with the job like the Hollywood guys seem to be doing at Wrexham.
If VT leaves for whatever reason what do you honestly think would happen next?

Well the trend is for the yanks to invest in clubs so hedge fund from usa would be good bet cwith possibly middle east/Asia as outside bet... whoever it is will have money behind them

Look at who bought Birmingham.
Alright, they got relegated last season but are clearly showing the ambition to take them back towards the PL very soon.
They supposedly chose Birmingham because it’s a big city. So as a capital city we must have similar interest?
There were a group from the Middle East for example interested at one point.

Ned brum owners are an upgraded version of the Swansea takeover with numerous people buying shares in the club... only problem with this is the pressure to succeed so can get their money back quickly ...you can see this in what they're doing at club but at this time it's what brum need to galvanise fans as well as club

Any idea why they didn't go ahead? Was it simply the unrealistic asking price?

I don’t know but you’re probably right.

Got to be someone out there,we’ve been run so bad for years and years and had countless managers and players who’ve come and gone I think it’s time for a new owner and board now personally

I'm sure most fans would agree with you but there don't seem to be any interested parties to offer even the faintest hope of a brighter future at the moment.

There are buyers out there 1,000%. Yet Tan wants insane money and don’t forget he’s very very hard to deal with.

I'd guess that a good 80% of clubs would change their owner. A british football club seems to be the status symbol of an absolute lunatic.

I get why consortiums want to buy football clubs until it goes pear-shaped.
It would be interesting to see what the returns on the Jack investment are as that stone is well and truly bled.
You buy Wrexham for next to nothing invest wisely, get lucky then at that sweet spot sell 50% of your shares to other investors for the next push. Your £4 mill turns to £8 million then £30 million if you get to the championship.
Now us, even at £60 million is a lot of money for a bigger stadium and training ground but with just as much chance of getting to the premier league as Wrexham and that's the goal, the premier league. Your asset, the club almost trebles because of the revenue.
So i have no idea who would want to take on us. So it would have to be achieved organically, but for that, we need a structure that Vinny seems pathologically set on not having.

Annis all owners are hard to deal with even comes to selling club! Cannot think of one club that as been sold without drama Everton being latest saga .. surely answer to getting his money back is to sell for X amount upfront with balance after promotion or similar arrangements?
