Just a quick update:
For now it will be all speculation as Our Hierarchy do not know themselves.
But I 100% know this, the next manager will be totally Vincent Tans Choice :
Dalman brought in Erol Bulut.
Tan certainly won’t be after any big name who is with a club and then have to pay to buy him out.

So with tans vast experience of choosing a manager god help us we are in a worse mess than ever.

Tans choice? League 1 feels really close now then. Beggars belief that a successful businessman can make such a mess of running a football club. Take advice from football men FFS.

Thanks for that. Will be a case of not blind leading the blind but blind leading the incompetent then!
Mon Sep 23, 2024 9:21 am
Said this would be the case yesterday.
No way would Tan let Dalman pick another.

Why oh why doesn’t he get someone in as a consultant who can advise him on the next appointment based on the players we have and the style we want / need to play?
He’s a businessman so surely he can see the sense of doing this

Dread to think how long this is going to take.

Vincent if your reading this i'll gladly do it for 100k a year.

Does sound like Riza will be given these few games until the international break while they find someone.
I do expect an improvement with Riza but don't think he'll get the job beyond that.
We have to get this appointment right or we'll be in huge trouble.
As you say it's all speculation but of the names mentioned, I would favour Schumacher. A lot of Stoke fans I know weren't happy that they let him go.
Media are saying don't rule out the Kortrijk manager.

Annis, many on this forum have come up with some very good names of managers who have chamionship experience and out of work so wouldn't cost any money to bring in. (apart from wages) but if this is just going to be down to Tan then it will be the cheapest option available, Riza or the coach at his Belgium club.
Mon Sep 23, 2024 9:42 am
If either Tan or Dalman pick, we're in the same rutt.
What a mess this is. It'll be someone uninspiring, mark my words.
Mon Sep 23, 2024 9:56 am
Let’s be honest, we don’t know how the process will work and how the decision will be made. As owner I’d expect Tan to have the final say but that doesn’t mean he’s taken on feedback and advice. Apologies in advance for this view not suiting the agenda.

Whoever we get doesn’t matter whose choice it is as long as he’s better than the last manager I believe we have a basis of a decent team they just need organising and managed onwards and upwards!!!
Mon Sep 23, 2024 10:07 am
Well Tan can’t do any worse picking with his Football knowledge than Dalman and Choo - where was their wealth of football experience to justify their previous choices!!!
Mon Sep 23, 2024 10:07 am
At last he is gone,,,,we know club in a mess...The only man in my book to get the job is Mr Neil Warnock....he knows the club inside out,he knows the league inside out,,,And we must stay in this league,,,it so important...even if on a temporary basis,,say untill christmas...He knows Tan...so knows what to put up with.....We have needed a clear out from tan all the way down for years, sadly this is not going to happen overnight.....We could get someone a lot worse....

That will be the same Tan who picked Mackay and Warnock !!
But I get your drift !! Successful 2 out of 12 times isn’t great !!!!!!!
Mon Sep 23, 2024 10:21 am
It'll be his Belgian clubs manager then
He's already come out to say he'd love the job one day
Mon Sep 23, 2024 10:23 am
At least Tan has invested a bit this season. The net of that investment isn't much coz of the McGuiness sale offsetting it...but Tan could have still pocketed that money and choose not to.
So maybe, just maybe, he'll make a sensible decision here and won't choose the cheapest bloke available...just as a way of seeing if that bit of investment bares fruit.

I have to agree with you here Bobby, we may be well surprised who comes in.
I personaly think it will be a well known manager, and i am sorry for this positve

Better than a lot of clubs who change managers frequently! In Hindsight he should gone at end season but he didn't so upwards and onwards and wait for the surprise?

Totally agree Schumacher for me, complete opposite to Bulet, has a plan B and C, likes quick attacking football, usually plays with 3 at the back but will adapt to a 442 if needed.
Of everyone who is out there I think he will be the best suited to what we need right now.
As for Warnock I’m sorry but football has moved on a lot since he was with us, ffp etc so it’s a no for me. However I’d love Tan to ask him for some advice on who to bring in maybe ?

Well he’s happy getting a consultants fee advising the board at Torquay, so why not for Tan also
Mon Sep 23, 2024 11:00 am
Dragonbet have a new favourite for our next manager. Freyr Alexandersson at 6/1. Won't cost Tan a penny and possibly bring Simic with him.

I'd happily have Warnock back but other than that I think Giggs would actually be a decent move because of who he is, would raise the profile of the club, more media attention, probably attract good players, more fans from all over the world would keep an eye on Cardiff City and he was doing well with Wales without the ability to sign players etc...probaly get some good loanees from big clubs because of his contacts, plus he was born in Cardiff. Only negative is his recent reputation which is now dropped and over.
Mon Sep 23, 2024 11:24 am
Tan has owned a football clubs for well over a decade, he knows the inside workings better than most. I think he has been stung so many times he is wary of handing over decisions when eventually he has to stump up the cash.
I still think it batshit crazy that he hasn’t found one person he can trust to be honest (even a slate type) to run it day by day
If I were him I find a consultant to help him match a manager with our squad
I loved warnock but he couldn’t do much with this lot, whilst I also think ballers would struggle short term as they are so slow.
The canton and away fans wanted Bulut, we were all in on him player wise, so it’s already gone from building to saving the season
It’s quite a generic squad with no positive personality so we need someone to enhance those qualities
