But even if he wins the next three or four, I don't think he's the right choice to get the job permanently. It is such a crucial appointment that we need to get right.
We have been down the road of giving caretaker managers the job permanently before and it's backfired - Hudson and Morison.
Even short term success with Riza doesn't mean that will translate to him saving our season. I think we won seven or eight in a row with McCarthy when he first came in and we know how that ended.
Riza has no experience of being a manager and that's another reason he shouldn't be given the job permanently, not when we're in this situation where relegation is a real possibility.
But I hope he does well in these few games, because we desperately need results.

Ned, I also read (can't remember who posted it) that Riza doesn't want the managers job, he wants to remain a coach

My question is the same. This will be interesting.
If he sets the team up in a Bulutball 4-2-3-1 with an isolated striker, then this guy is no attacking coach! Especially if he picks Kanga and 2 x defensive midfielders.

4231 formation can be attacking formation if he uses the wing backs as overlapping players supporting Kanga! Bulut played 5 at back with 4 midfielders with lone striker on Saturday and no-one overlapping ... most teams use one striker but they also have supporting players something we never do until its to late....

I hope he adopts the strategy you've mentioned. We need some points and fast.
