Next 5 Games & Omer Riza : We can not possibl

Mon Sep 23, 2024 6:07 pm

Next 5 Games & Omer Riza : We can not possibly get an easier cluster of games than the next 5 games .

Hull , Millwall , Bristol City , Plymouth and Portsmouth. I will be very disappointed if we do not pick “at least” 7 points !!!

It has been an open secret for the last few weeks that Omer Riza …..will be given a chance to show what he can do. Riza is a very lucky man to get this opportunity .

He could not believe his luck when first approached ….this luck is now compounded with the ‘relatively’ very easy fixture list ahead .

I am not disrespectful or dismissive of the opposition …..but really none of the next 5 is going to be up there come the end of the season and probably 4 if not all are likely to finish in the bottom half .

Tan loves this because if it comes on ….it will be on the cheap cheap cheap ….and he can dominate and control because a Riza will be very thankful and compliant .

Dalman is happy because Riza is ethnically Turkish.

Riza has been expecting this for a while now .

The big question is : “ Will Riza do enough to become our permanent manager “ ?

The other question is :” Will Tan be looking for other possibilities ….which if Riza fails ……or if a very juicy name is available …then Tan has someone ready” ?

Annis was told he would get job last week.... question is will tan be quike in replacing him before 5 games if we dont get results in next 3 games like we should? Luckily there will still be decent managers available in a months time ! Whilst next 5 games won't determine relegation it will determine any notion of top 6 finish.

If he does well he will get the job.

He is cheap and that is what we know Tan likes. He will likely be a yes man too.

He has the perfect opportunity with the next 5 fixtures, to show what this team can do.

He is an attacking coach and I expect to see more attacking football than we have been playing.

It's in our interest for him to do well, that goes without saying.

But even if he wins the next three or four, I don't think he's the right choice to get the job permanently. It is such a crucial appointment that we need to get right.

We have been down the road of giving caretaker managers the job permanently before and it's backfired - Hudson and Morison.

Even short term success with Riza doesn't mean that will translate to him saving our season. I think we won seven or eight in a row with McCarthy when he first came in and we know how that ended.

Riza has no experience of being a manager and that's another reason he shouldn't be given the job permanently, not when we're in this situation where relegation is a real possibility.

But I hope he does well in these few games, because we desperately need results.

Ned, I also read (can't remember who posted it) that Riza doesn't want the managers job, he wants to remain a coach

The best signing a football club can make is a good manager, the club should push to get the best possible available.

To be fair, I posted that because it was something I heard. Not sure how true but his intentions are to be a coach long term and not a manager.

Others have said that Bulut intentionally surrounds him with coaches who don't want to be managers, so they're not a threat.

Will he play the same team and tactics that Bulut did? The next game be very interesting and will tell a story.

My question is the same. This will be interesting.

If he sets the team up in a Bulutball 4-2-3-1 with an isolated striker, then this guy is no attacking coach! Especially if he picks Kanga and 2 x defensive midfielders.

I fear the worse for this appointment if I'm honest.

I hope its just temporary untill we sign a good manager, gone should be the days that a yes man who has never managed a top club be given power.

Hopefully tan has learned his lesson but unfortunately i don't believe he has!

If the players start to put in a performance then it must of been bulut who was the issue!

4231 formation can be attacking formation if he uses the wing backs as overlapping players supporting Kanga! Bulut played 5 at back with 4 midfielders with lone striker on Saturday and no-one overlapping ... most teams use one striker but they also have supporting players something we never do until its to late....

I hope he adopts the strategy you've mentioned. We need some points and fast.

We have no pace at wingback… that is the problem

You would hope he knows
what the problem is and how to rectify it with the personnel he has..

Well if he don't there's plenty on here that do. We can do no more than give the guy a chance.

Mad watching us play 4231 and never see FBs getting right up there

2cbs and 2 dms more then enough to have FBs pushing up.

I like to see 442 with a little and large strike force, someone that can float around the front make some space

Time will tell but - I did post on here a few weeks ago these 5 games on paper are not against Top 6 clubs .
Having said that thought we would have at least picked up a point from - Derby or Leeds ...
