“ Vincent Tan / Freyr Alexandersson “

Tue Sep 24, 2024 8:10 am

Update:

Freyr Alexandersson has dismissed suggestions he has flown in to hold talks with Cardiff City over the vacant manager's post.

According to reports in Belgium, the KV Kortrijk coach missed a few training sessions last week allegedly due to illness after the match against OH Leuven

However, it's claimed he had actually travelled to Cardiff to speak to the Welsh club about the possibility of succeeding Erol Bulut, who was dismissed from his post with the Bluebirds at the weekend following the 2-0 defeat at home to Leeds United

Freyr Alexandersson, manager of Kortrijk, is one of the leading candidates to succeed Erol Bulut as head coach of Cardiff City.

The Icelander reportedly flew to Wales last week to talk to the Championship's bottom club.

Ale Anderson has since been back to Cardiff City’s Stadium.

It’s believed he is Tan’s first choice.

Freyr Alexandersson, manager of Kortrijk

It's obviously going to be something shite like this.

Lower expectation, lower disappointment.

That is the feeling I'm getting too.

It will be someone like Alexandersson, Riza or Rowberry.

Kortrijk wide men run wide and cross balls in, play with 2 strikers might not be a bad move, they should of scored against Club Brugge goalie mad a great save and a shot just wide

Re: Freyr Alexandersson

Could be a decent shout tbh they play more attacking football than bulut .

Re: Freyr Alexandersson

Its a critical hire considering where we are right now.

We need to get this right.

They do set up differently to how we have been, but even then they are down the bottom of the league.

Re: Freyr Alexandersson

Tue Sep 24, 2024 9:26 am

This would be worse than when we appointed Bulut.

Described as highly rated? Did prevent them being relegated last season from what looked like an impossible situation .... guess he's struggling with a crap side and doing best he can with limited resources

Well we’re all screaming out for a more attacking team and if that’s his style of play why not give him a chance until Xmas or the end of season see how he gets on

Trouble with some of names mentioned whilst experience of championship how many have good records And how many progressed the club they were at? What is certain is tan cannot afford to get this wrong otherwise could be looking down the barrel of div 1... instead of mid-table or above.

Annis let's hope rissa comes good then ...hopefully it will stop this reckless appointment as can only see one thing replaced by xmas and us fighting off relegation but like teams in every league previously you can only fight for so many times before your defeated and get relegated and this could be citys waterloo!

This will be another typical Tan appointment, and it's a massive NO from me and I am unanimous in that.
Sign a bloody manager with some experience for a change.

You know me Annis aways positive outlook when comes to city but! I feel if dont get this right our time could be up...... while we are not he worst team player wise we lack a coach who knows what they're doing in championship or at least get a tune out what we got ....reserve judgement until we know who we get eventually.

If you want attacking football then we should go for Tony Mowbray if he's over his illness.

There's a few on the list with plenty of championship experience, why doesn't a supposedly successful businessman like Tan bring one of them in, instead of most of the garbage he has over the years. Surely somebody with experience of this league is going to be a better appointment than someone without as Bulut proved

Re: “ Vincent Tan / Freyr Alexandersson “

Im not saying employ this man as our manager as maybe he has not had the experience, but this article outlines the style we may
be looking for, if maybe not him at the wheel. https://totalfootballanalysis.com/head- ... is-tactics Also if he did come who would manage Korvik

Re: “ Vincent Tan / Freyr Alexandersson “

The mess we are in it’s going to take a proper well schooled super footballing mastermind to get us out of this hole!

Seriously though, Riza, Rowberry, Page and this guy I expect to get the nod. This has a Tan appointment all over it. Maybe Mark Hughes as an outsider, not any of the names repeatedly mentioned by us fans on all the groups and media. Names that mostly I would be extremely happy with. Not this guy. Please no

Rog, I was told Alexandersson was here on footballing business re FC Kjortvik and not to be 'interviewed' but I can see why some would believe otherwise

It may still come to pass but the feeling is he wants to give Omer Riza a chance before looking elsewhere

Strange Club 'R' Us...! :ayatollah:
