Vincent Tan -- can someone please explain.

Wed Sep 25, 2024 2:05 pm

I see lots of people still want Tan out. Well I don't know the first thing about running a football club but it seems to me that Tan has kept us afloat for a few years. So can someone tell me what the scenario is if he walks out. Are there people waiting in the wings to buy the club? Could we survive if Tan goes? I don't know the answers but I'm interested to know what would happen.

They should have gone Years ago.

Tan seems to be in NO hurry , I don’t understand why??

He’s been offered three different offers including £100 Mill, BUT Wants £200 Mill, Beyomd Obsurb.

I know of three offers and their is probably more.

Dalman has confirmed in the past we’ve had offers.

Tan is stubborn, he is a business man who has no idea how to run a football club, look at his other clubs, along with City for overwhelming proof of this.

He has had offers, but they don't match what he believes the club is worth.

I'd say that the 100m offer was very generous and is more than the club is currently worth.

As to if we would survive without Tan - that would be down to who the new owner would be. We could get lucky and end up with an oil baron owner, or we could end up with someone like the Venkys at Blackburn.

Everton have just been bought for £500m. They are a big club in the PL with a big history and huge potential. Much more than us.

Tan wants £200m for us which is crazy.

Does he really think the club as it is now is worth 40% as much as Everton? Because I don't.

The only asset the club has of any value is the ground and that is Tans problem. Without a team to play there, the ground is virtually worthless as the Council would not allow it to be developed for other purposes. The only way for Tan to get part of his money back is to realise that the club value is nowhere near what he thinks it is unless it is in the Premier League. In the meantime he is merely throwing good money after bad. How on earth did this man make his money?

We have great potential being a capital city.

I don't actually believe we are a 'massive club' though.

All football fans have a habit of believing that their club is bigger than it is.

We have had 2 seasons in the Premier league, getting relegated both times, and have spent plenty of time in the last 40+ years in the doldrums in the lower divisions.

Not sure how this translates to 'massive club'

To me, a massive club is a club with a rich history, multiple top division trophies, success in Europe etc.

Massive club we definitely are, capital city with only one team from there.

Just by population of cardiff and surrounding areas we could be a power house.

Even how pants we have been we get 20k no worries, what would we be like in the prem and staying there ?

I disagree Kyle.

Just because there is only one Club in Cardiff doesn't make us massive.

A massive club pulls in more than 20k.

Our premier league attendances was due to a massive amount of glory supporting plastics who live in South Wales unfortunately.

The things you have listed show our potential, and I don't doubt our potential.

But we aren't a massive club right now in my opinion.
