I think Mark Hughes might be what we need

Thu Sep 26, 2024 10:50 am

He did well at Wales, well at Blackburn, well at Man City.

Granted lower league jobs haven’t gone well but he will get immediate respect from the players and if he doesn’t he will get rid.

Better than Bulut I would say.

Really?

Sorry but I have to disagree.

You pointed out that he failed at clubs like Bradford, well that's why he wouldn't get respect from players and rightly so.

But anyway he won't be getting the job.

Same

Wales, City and Blackburn was a long time ago in modern footballing terms, and I wouldnt say they were successes either. Loved him as a player, not as a leader, gaffer

Nah not for me, he's done nothing for years.

I'd rather get pulis out of retirement

Hes too old and it's been too long ago that he did anything worthwhile.

Moyes is older than Hughes, would people turn him down !!??

Warnock and mad Mick (first season) showed that age needn’t be a barrier.

Bulut was reasonably young but he turned into a disaster !!

I’m not saying Hughes is ideal but he’s not the worse suggestion.

That's not the issue.

Moyes was most recently managing in the Premier League and won a European trophy.

Hughes was most recently managing in League Two and failed. Should we go after the manager MK Dons have just sacked??

If we replaced Bulut with Hughes it would be like going from being homeless to living with Jeffrey Dahmer.

I Totally agree with you Ned,

They fully backed Hughes at Bradford City in League 2 and he was awful and defensive in his tactics

Very Very Negative Manager, maybe some like football like that.

Spot on, as usual.

Past his sell by date. The drop to L2, without success, says it all.

I mean. Is it definite that Pep would do well at league 2 level?

Your favourite manager of the last 15 years is Malky who was the most defensive manager we have had ever. If it brings success it’s a good thing isn’t it?

Personally I like my football with a bit of attacking flair. DJ style.

Hopefully you will support him if he does get the job mate.

We definitely aren’t get Buckingham.

Too good and too big for us which saddens me so much to say.

Not sure why you've mentioned Buckingham when he's barely been mentioned on this forum, apart from one thread a while ago.

Hughes won't be getting the job anyway, that has been reported.

Who is it gonna be?!

Last I saw Buckingham was being mentioned.

Got a season ticket at Oxford so got skin in the game. Plus he was asked about it today or yesterday apparently.

I have no idea who it'll be, but the reports say it won't be Hughes.
