CARDIFF CITY'S FUTURE IN THE HANDS OF A CAR SALESMAN

Thu Sep 26, 2024 12:16 pm

You couldn't really make it up could you?

Ken choo will now decide our next manager using his vast knowledge of the great game, get this appointment wrong then i think we'll be too far adrift to recover and we'll go down. This could have all been done and dusted in the last international break instead of now waiting until the next one which will be about 8 games all together, a lot of damage might be done by p*ssing about, take stoke, sacked manager on monday, appointed a new one on wednesday with a 3 year contract. With this being our 125 year anniversary things could and should be better than this shambles, i really do fear the worse if this appointment becomes the cheapest option available.

Is this true? Not that I'd be shocked but I really hope not

That's what WalesOnline are saying.

But all I would say is that the choice would be made by one of Choo, Dalman or Tan.

Doesn't matter which, none of them know what they're doing.

Can only hope that Choo listens to the fans and appoints Schumacher.

Totally agree, including Schumacher.

The three deluded clueless wanabee football men in the ivory towers, or should I say Fawlty Towers! The businessman, the car salesman and the investment banker sounds like a comedy film. It is!! Why us of all clubs in the world, why us FFS

Sorry, but your last sentence had me cringing. Have a listen to 'Swansea fan crying on the radio' on Youtube and you'll catch my drift.

Think of what you said and then put yourself in the shoes of Bury fans for instance and nearly all lower league fans who crave a higher status for their club but never achieve it.

Agreed things are not great at the moment but it's not as if we've had nothing to celebrate over the last 20 years.

That’s a fair comment/assessment to make…

I enjoyed our years nearer and/or at the top; my only issue being we are no better off after all those years than we were when they started…

It’s a crying shame, as with a little more nouse on the Board and bar the Sala saga, we may well have been in a different position to that in which we find ourselves now…

Ken Choo is paid (handsomely) to do what the current owner tells him; and we should conclude that after Mehmet recent failure, it will be Vincent Tan who makes any/all decisions on the next man in…

I find calling him a car salesman pathetic and childish! He's a buisness person in his own right would anyone trust a car salesman
to run a multi million franchise? ) and I find him a genuine nice guy on my many chats with him... tan will make the final decision but unfortunately its not going yo be Schumacher otherwise he would be signed up already.... finally its funny how people believe this story when every other story from wol or whoever is derided as BS if dont like it..

The trouble is that lots of business owners make good and bad decisions. I don't think that running a football club comes naturally to Tan whereas most of his businesses do. You cannot simply take a business ethos from your usual area of work and try to apply it to a football club. You need people to advise you, people who know football inside and out. This I feel has been Tan's downfall.

We now need the type of manager who can get this team working together and has a knack of getting teams out of trouble. At this point in time, cost should be one of the lower factors as relegation would hit Tan hard financially. Does Tan see that though or is he simply looking to get a manager in on the cheap. Unfortunately I can see Tan installing Freyr Alexandersson as manager as it's probably the cheapest option.

Stan I cannot believe tan doesn't know the consequences of relegation as he felt that after premier league! But your right football is like no other buisness and a footballing person is required to navigate its complexities... I undoubtedly think an untried option is suicidal but considering Schumacher is available and not expensive in relative terms and tans ignored him that is the way tan is going like said suicidal.

Only speculation I know, but maybe Tan has noted that Schumacher was deemed not good enough for Stoke and therefore his chances of being a success with us would be marginal and not worth a gamble.

Regarding the complexities of running a football club, I agree it is incomparable to any other business. Some may say only the foolhardy would treat it as a profit-making exercise unless you're part of a hedge fund company that bleeds a club dry of its assets.

Either way, it is incredibly frustrating for us fans to accept there is nobody at the top who understands the game and is able to put into place a structure beneficial to the running of the club.

Jeez, your reply has me cringeing too. Im sure the headline is tongue in cheek, my reply certainly was. Ill go nuts if I dont have a chuckle at our own expense FFS. Gallows humor! And you have gone all analytical on our asses! Two totally different angles. And thats not to say I dont see where your coming from. But really?

That said Im not putting myself in the shoes of any other football fan thank you. Swansea, Bury or FC Girondins de Bordeaux for that matter (as sad as their plight has been) I only focus on my team always have, and always will, and yeah, I hate it that we have 3 businessmen trying to be football men and make big decisions without any decent knowledge at all, change our colours, sticking their noses into the dressing room and tactics and not communicating with the fans. Yes Fawlty Towers, a comedy. Also, Tan hasnt been with us for 20 years either,

So what would you call Choo ?? He's the ceo of a high end car dealers, based in London. Now what he does for his main job doesn't intrest me what so ever but unfortunately, he's also the ceo of our football club. I've also met him when he first came to the club, i've no idea what being a nice guy has to do with this thread.?? What he has is no football knowledge, along with Tan and Dalman they are clueless especially when it comes to bringing in new managers. Because of our league position this appoinment is vital, it has to be right, but most city fans know what will happen, the cheapest optioh wll be made as usual.

You can call it childish/pathetic, I call it gallows humor, but actually and sadly....Fact! They are 3 non football men failing badly at making football decisions. Delusions of grandeur almost, stubborn too (still not over Cornelius transfer , get over it, move on, it happens) and therefore ridicule has to be expected. More so when they are not accountable, just like Bulut was.

FAWLTY TOWERS, and yes FFS why my club that I love so much!!!.

For years I was hearing the Tan defence saying, we could be like a Bury if it wasnt for him. It was worse in the eighties etc. Sorry, I dont think that way, I dont believe our club would have ever got to that stage, Im here and now, his decisions to employ business men rather than football men, and therefore including caretakers, 16 managers in 14 years, many with different styles and philosophies, add to that dwindling crowds and atmosphere. Youn cant run a football club that way. No foundations. Sorry, its gross mismanagement and alienating customers, many of whom are long gone, my friends included. I would think twice about working for the three of them.

I have no faith in the next appointment, I hope they prove me wrong.

Sadly so far its Unhappy 125th anniversary

Still, keep the faith, onwards and upwards :ayatollah:
