Who are the 2 'advisors'

Fri Sep 27, 2024 3:26 pm

Good to see the club are bringing in two ex managers to help with the search for our new manager, but who are they?

Thats massively important as to what type of manager we get through the door next.

It won't be Malky, for obvious reasons. Wouldn't be surprised if Warnock was one.

I dread to think what the recommendations will be if the advisors are Russel Slade and Paul Trollope for example

I'm not sure it's our clubs ex managers but ex football managers in general.

It's probably Scott Young and Danny Gabbidon knowing these clowns.

It’s good to see this happening. It’s easy to knock the club but this is a positive move.

Not really. Should have appointed a DoF/Sporting Director years ago and then there would be no need for this when looking for a new manager.

I’m trying to be positive mate. It’s so easy to get wrapped up in the negativity. We have to have some luck sometime so maybe it’s now.

Simon,

I beg for luck, but we are not in this position due to bad luck.

It’s these Clowns are the reason.

David Brent and Basil Fawlty

I have a horrible feeling that the 'advisors' are also the cheapest they could find.

We haven't had good enough managers to advise, apart from maybe Warnock.

The ones before Tan took over, would be irrelevant in today's football, if they are still involved in football at all.

Ned, you are right, a DoF was needed years and years ago. Wouldn't be in this mess.

Didn't Warnock have some say in the appointment of Neil Harris?

Wouldn't surprise me if one of them is Russell Slade. Knows alot about data and statistics in the game, and helped reduce Tans outgoings when he was manager.

I work with recruiters for technical roles, they do a lot of the background work, and understand what we want/need actively search out and chat with potential recruits and give us a small dossier on the final three to five on the shortlist. Its takes a lot of the faff out of it. Their fees range between 15%~25% of the annual salary if we recruit.

They may not even be household names but if they successfully placed managers at other clubs they may have a reputation in the game.

Lets be honest there is no point in placing a Russell Martin-type manager on that shortlist, we are not that fan base nor are our players.

I think it's a sensible way to go.

Yes we should have appointed a DOF years ago but we didn't. Appointing 2 ex- managers to help in recruiting a new manager is a positive step and if it works maybe Tan will consider a DOF in the future.

Do you really believe them . I havent believed what comes out of their mouths for a long time. I think Dalman reads this board and tells us what he thinks we want to hear

If and its a big IF there are two ex managers (not necessarily city managers) advising the board and or Tan then it wouldn’t surprise me if one of them is Tony Pulis as he allegedly has had Tans ear in the past.
