Does Tan want us to remain crap on purpose?

Fri Sep 27, 2024 5:59 pm

Is he just being a dick on purpose? Many Cardiff City fans are relieved that our manager has been sacked and are hoping for an experienced and exciting replacement for Erol Bulut, following a dreadful start to the Championship season, which has left the Bluebirds bottom of the league, having earned just one point from six matches, scoring only one goal while conceding a massive 13.

This was the season when some City bigwigs talked of at least a top-six finish and the possibility of automatic promotion. Whoops!

A more traditionally run club would immediately look for a quality replacement, but basketcase City have decided to put Omer Riza in temporary charge, which is worrying a different section of our fed-up fanbase.

This tired and suspicious bunch of fans wonder if Tan is....READ MORE.. https://cardiffcity.news/cardiff-city-new-manager-does-unpopular-owner-want-to-tread-water-until-buyer-appears/

PS. I am trying to start a CCFC opinion and news blog as I'm sick of this awful period of being a City fan and thought I'd start writing about it rather than annoying all my mates rabbiting on about it in my local pub in Manchester.

I think the three of them are just utterly clueless when it comes to running a football club.

There's no reason for him to want us to be utter shite on purpose, just hurting and losing his own investment.

The reason I said he could be doing it on purpose was simply for him to (possibly delusionally) wait for a £200m bonkers offer for the club. I just don't get why a successful businessman would basically lose money in huge amounts on a regular basis without a plan.

It's bloody madness. He seems to have turned down offers of over £100m but refuses as he doesn't like the people behind the offer or the price. He'll never get £200m. Didn't Everton just accept a but for £350m for an established Premier League club with an underperforming yet valuable squad, a great new stadium and a massive fanbase?

If someone I didn't like, wanted to buy my car I wouldn't say no just because of who they are, I'd sell it with a smile on my face.

Even when Tan got us promoted twice, we didn't get any expertise on board to help us buy proven Premier League players and come up with a strategy of consolidation and survival in the top league. Instead, we got a bunch of overpriced players, an inexperienced manager in Ole and an absolutely mad change of club colours and history. Even the whole Sala tragedy was an absolute joke.

Tan surely has a plan. If he doesn't then he is an absolute twonk and must be a laughing stock amongst his peers in Malaysia.

Utterly ridiculous.

I'm no fan of Tan but he's losing money all the time with us, of course he's not making us fail on purpose. It baffles me how anyone would even think that.

He's a businessman and would never do that with one of his businesses.

I just think he has no idea how to run a football club.

If I was running a failing business I'd bring in troubleshooters to fix it. I think it is ridiculous and I just don't get why he'd let one of his businesses lose so much money without learning lessons from seasons past.

Hearing that he's turned down a big offer from Hammam just because of personal reasons just sounds mental to me. He baffles me. Yes, it can be seen as utterly ridiculous but his actions so far (like changing to red etc) have been utterly ridiculous so who knows what the hell he's doing and what his motives are.

I reckon Tan Ken Choo and Memet dont care about our club.
Tan stayed away ever since our last Premier League campaign.
He is just pumping cash into the club just to keep it going then forgets about it.

I put this on another thread but I think it's pertinent to what you're saying here.

I've been saying the same about the Sala death affecting Tan more than we know for a while. It wouldn't surprise me to find out that this affects everything he does in regards to the club since that day because he was certainly not tight fisted when it came to splashing out 17 million for the fee & he has relentlessly pursued Nice since that day & IMO it's not because of the money.

Tan is also from a culture where honor is paramount, he is worshipped by people who work for him in Malaysia. We caused him to lose face when we rejected him & his lucky red color shirt. Sounds stupid to our western ideas but take a look at some of the huge Las Vegas casinos and the lengths they go to blend eastern culture into their buildings in order to make them seem lucky to those from the east Taking losses on CCFC might allow him to write off those losses against other business profits in Malaysian tax laws.

Not for a minute do I believe this.

Problem we have is he has no clue how to get out of this mess. He put his trust in Dalman and we know how it has gone there.

This reminds me of a friend of mine who worked for a company that look dead and buried during the last recession. So in walked this stranger who bought the company, dacked all the managers but kept the workers. His first job was to complete the orders they had which meant they would survive for another day. Then after that is was to build the business up and here was the difference. This guy knew the market, knew how to market and pulled it around all by himself. The workers were knacked because as my mate said they felt he had given them a kick up the arse. No one was complaining though as they had survived. Eventually the guy brought in the right managers and he returned to his house on the beach.

This guy knew the market and what to do. Do we have the same?
