No to Warnock

Sat Sep 28, 2024 5:19 pm

There will no doubt be threads tonight calling for Warnock.

I'm going to get in first and say that's a bad idea.

The team are unsuited to his style and at his last two jobs he's failed.

He is yesterday's man.

Doubt they would have him back anyway because of the huge agent fees he wasted.

I have been against Nathan Jones for the job but maybe he could at least get this team better defensively. Depends if Tan pays the compensation which I doubt, but this is close to an emergency situation now.

Otherwise my preference is still Schumacher.

Whoever it is, they've got one hell of a job.

Would be the ideal candidate for DOF though as he knows how to deal with Tan and the board and get us the exact kind of players we need

I would agree with that actually.

I think he's yesterday's man too. I just don't think he'd have it in him anymore.

Tony Mowbray is an experienced old head but I don't view him as someone who can rescue a club on the brink.

Struggling to look beyond Gary Rowett now. I don't like him but that's exactly what we need. A nasty b'stad that can grind out lots of 1 nil wins. He very nearly rescued Birmingham last season with very little time to work within.

Nathan Jones would be my first choice, then Rowett or Alex Neil. I don't believe any of these are troubled by the curse of playing out from the back when you are not capable. The problem is every footballer believes they are Man City class and these dopey "young modern" managers play into that ego. You are not, you are an overpaid championship player

So the team are not suited to Warnock style?
How the hell can we do any worse than we are doing now?
Just what style are our players suited to?

Warnock specialises on a tough midfield, defenders who can bully strikers and a team with pace.

That's why two of his first signings were Bamba and Hoilett.

We have none of those things.

Armani and Prada I’d imagine as their certainly not capable of mastering any footballing style

If we did it’s not building for the future and I would normally be against it.

But as I betting man I would say we are in shit creek and he would 100% keep us up.

It’s proven look at us record.

Not if you look at his last two jobs.
