Thank you Omar Riza

Sun Oct 06, 2024 5:07 pm

I think we need to thank him for playing a really important holding role.
In fairness he stepped in when things on the playing side couldn't be much worse.
He's got us 4pts and our first win and the players having a bit more belief.
But it's now time to move forward with a new experienced manager

jesus, you must love parks football, the amateur manager cocked up big time, get someone in who knows what they are doing.

you could see the players take charge after the goal - GET RITA OUT

Did you read my post?

What part of it mentioned his playing style or even that he should stay?
In fact I said the complete opposite.

Fair comment. Some ridiculous comments on here tonight slagging him off. The Bristol goal was a great cross and arguably he put 5 at the back to try to prevent this. It didn't happen for him. The game could have also been put to bed with better finishing which also has nothing to do with 5 at the back. Lots on this board have never played or coached football but are very quick to point fingers and pretend they have.

It was a wrong decision to change formation but we saw that type of change under Warnock on a number of occasions If Warnock had. one in and got us 4 points in his first two games we would have been praising him Ok I don’t think Rita is the right guy but he has definitely made an improvement to the team and style of play

Give it a rest ffs.

Ok, Riza made a f**k up by going defensive too early.
But, before that the midfield was looking good.

We also looked dangerous going forward, which we haven’t done all season till now.

Riza ain’t the answer, but to slate him like this when we were an awful lot worse under Bulut is ridiculous.

Had first win in the week, followed up with a draw today. Stopping the rot. Main thing is we didn’t lose, and slowly building some sort of momentum.

He’s definitely tweaked our style of play and improved us as a result, he was naive today changing the formation when he did, however he doesn’t deserve to be slated. Personally, I don’t think he’s the man for the job at the minute, however we don’t know how the board will see it , any new man coming in will probably want to bring his own staff, are the club willing to make a clean sweep and start from a clean slate ?

Not often I agree with you but riza out of his depth ,

I hope he stays at the club as a coach because nobody can deny we have improved under him.

However, I don't think he should be the manager. I think the reason most people are so critical is because they're scared of the prospect of him getting the job.

He has said he doesn't regret his substitutions so that suggests he'd do it again. Which is a big reason to not give him the job - because those decisions did cost us two points. Bristol were barely even in the game at that point.

I can understand making changes like that if there was only five or six minutes to go, but not that early.

I think he deserves a lot of credit for stepping in and changing things that have had a positive effect.
If the goals go in and we clear are lines we win comfortably so I see his point .However I think he changed it to early and if we haven't got a squad fit enough to last the 90 then wtf.
Done well today but could of won the game that's people are frustrated. After all we do need the points don't we .

It's 4 points in 3 games.

Sensible post, not like some idiots who can't even get Riza's name right.

He was asked to be interim manager and has got our first win of the season, 4 points from 3 games. He's done a good job, built the confidence up in the players but it's now time for a new experienced manager. And yes I hope Riza stays on the coaching staff too.

Fine margins, O Dowda blocks that cross, Colwill, El Ghazi and Tanner score, then Riza is held in a completely different light on here.We could have won 3-0 he would be hailed as a hero. However the decision to go 5 at the back and take off Robertson was ridiculous whilst not even in the final quarter of the game with us on top and with Worzels booing. He is out of his depth, but getting us 4 points , some goals to cheer and better play all round just highlights how bad Erol Bulut was at his job.

He wouldn't deserve to be slated except for the fact that he thought he was wonderful. If he'd held his hands up and said he made a mistake you could have a bit of sympathy. But he's come out and said he doesn't regret the decision, which means he'd do the same thing again, so as regards him getting job it's a no thanks from me.

His style of play is a massive improvement on Bulut.

We are now seeing what Colwill can do which we have all been crying out for. In fact you can include Tanner and Robinson there too.

Everyone is going on about his substitutions against the Worzels. Well although I thought they were early, we were winning the battles out there there was no need for them. However, dont blame the subs for the goal as they ball should have been cleared long before it. After that the defence did play ok.

I would not be surprised if he gets the job.

The way he set us up was great, I was thinking at half time, "we are going to win this, maybe Riza could be an idea, I like the way we're playing' obviously the start of the 2nd half was great, but he totally messed it all up with that formation change, which shows his inexperience. I'd get a new manager in and have Riza in charge of the u23s or something. He's not far off and much more pleasing on the eye than Bulut's style but the fact he said he doesn't regret the changes is worrying but maybe understandable if he's after the job permanently. Good set up but if on top why change? If it ain't broke don't try to fix it.
