Could Riza be a good assistant?

Mon Oct 07, 2024 7:02 pm

Hes not ready to jump into a job like City full time.

His inexperience shows that.

But what he also has shown is that he can change the style of play positively, and he can get the best out of Colwill/Tanner etc.

I think most of us agree he should stay with us as a coach, but could he be good as an assistant to someone like Bilic or Schumacher?

They will want to bring their own assistant in of course, but he could develop into a manager with an attacking set up, and a better judgement on changing formations etc

Personally I’d like him to stay on in some capacity with us. I think he’s done well getting his coaching across and tbr players seem to like him. Seems like a tidy guy with plenty of positivity about him. I don’t think he’s ready for a championship manager role but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a lot to offer.

I hope he stays in some capacity. Seems like a good guy and the players seem to like and respect him. He's already shown us just how bad a manager Bulut was in all but 2 games so he deserves some credit for sure.

Working as a coach under someone like Bilic would be great for him.

He should definitely stay as a coach. Whether that's as the assistant or not, I'm not sure. I expect any incoming manager will want their own assistant to come with them.

He only came in during the summer so I expect the club will want him to stay, as long as he wants to.

Now he's had a taste of management, he may want to look for a management job elsewhere - although I think he would have to drop below the Championship to find that for his first permanent job.

But I hope he stays in some sort of coaching capacity.

Annis, I'd be happy with that, especially if what has been said about Reindorf is true.
