Our automatic starters

Every club has players who should be automatic starters.

Who are our's in your opinion, with the squad we have now?

Mine would be:



Alnwick - not perfect but definitely a better option than Horvath

Ng - easily the best RB at the club

Daland - Our best CB on what we've seen

Robertson - Looks a top signing. Keeps the play ticking over and the sort of midfielder we've needed for years

Colwill - Have my issues with him but his performance levels have improved. Think he's played better this season than Ramsey

Robinson - Again, not perfect but none of the other strikers have anywhere near the same threat



I could include the likes of O'Dowda, Bagan and Goutas but I wouldn't put them under this category as we can cope without them.

If we were without the six above players, I think it would be difficult to replace them with the same quality in our current squad.

Could make an argument for Ramsey coming in for Colwill if needed but the truth is he hasn't performed to the required level since his injury last season.

For me they would be:

Colwill - it progressing well, needed a run in the team to show his ability and has taken his chance. One of our most creative, defenders don't know what to do with him.

Tanner - raw, but his passion is needed. He has the ability, links well with Colwill.

Robertson - he's the link that we have been missing.

Daland - if what we have seen continues, he is our best CB. Him and Goutas at the back.

I agree with your 6 but I'd also add Bagan as he's our best LB. Both alternatives in Collins and O'Dowda have proved to be at fault many times in that position and neither give me confidence.

I think Fish will prove to be an automatic starter along side Daland as the season goes on but I'm sure Goutas will push them both. Great competition to have in that position.

On form this season Perry is not automatic starter. Agree with rest though

Ramsey’s not on my radar, he’s been injured for so long and so often, unfortunately I don’t think of him as a City player. I’m hoping under a good manager his motivation to play will improve.

I think given time El Ghazi will be a definite starter and I also think Willock will prove to be a good signing.

We just need the right person to oversee it all.

I'd go those 6 as the definite starters as well.
