Club Connections

Kevin Nugent played for both clubs, making over 200 appearances in total between those clubs.

Rival Players

Morgan Whittaker joined Plymouth from Swansea.

Michael Obafemi is another ex Swansea player.

The Opposition's Manager

Wayne Rooney was appointed Plymouth manager in July.

He was at Birmingham last season, who eventually got relegated.

He previously did well with Derby and also had a spell in charge of DC United in the MLS.

Opposition Dangerous Players

Whittaker had 19 goals and 8 assists last season, he has scored two so far in this campaign.

Ibrahim Cissoko has had a strong start to the season with 3 goals and 1 assist.

Head To Head

We have won two of our last five meetings with Plymouth.

But we didn't beat them in either of the games last season with them winning at their stadium and it finishing in a draw when we played them at CCS.

Team News - Predicted Line-Ups

Plymouth Argyle: Grimshaw, Edwards, Szucs, Gibson, Mumba, Randell, Gyabi, Al Hajj, Whittaker, Cissoko, Obafemi

Last Game

We drew 1-1 at Bristol City before the international break.

On the same weekend, Plymouth won 2-1 at home to Blackburn.

I'm going to attempt to be positive.

I will say that we will have a manager in place for this game and we will win it.

Have no knowledge that will happen, but just hoping!

Plymouth will be without Rooney on the touchline because he was sent off in their last game, teams often struggle when they don't have their manager next to them.

Not a fan of these early kick offs, will be an early start for me.

This one is personal for me.
Argyle are playing well at the moment and have beaten Sunderland, Luton, and Blackburn already.
We were useless in both games last season winning the 1 point at home.
The game at Home Park was an utter shit show after going 1 up
So my prediction for next week is
Cardiff City 2 Plymouth Argyle 1.

Riza hasn’t done badly for us so far, not saying I want him to get the job, but it could be a lot worse.

Much better football and more chances. I’m going city win here.

Plymouth Argyle will be sweating on a blow to Brendan Galloway after he came off 26 minutes into Zimbabwe’s clash with Namibia.
Plymouth Argyle saw a number of their players called up for international duty ahead of the ongoing break.

Among them was defender Galloway, who earned a place in the latest Zimbabwe national squad. The former Everton and Luton Town man started and played all 90 minutes in a clash with Namibia last week as his country won 1-0.

However, in the second clash against the country yesterday, Galloway only lasted 26 minutes.

I didn't realise they have Obafemi. Him and/or Whittaker are bound to score. Lump on it.

Kornel Szucs made his senior debut for Hungary in their crucial UEFA Nations League win over Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The defender came on as a late substitute in the 2-0 win, and helped his nation see out a big victory in their fight for League A survival.

Marco Rossi's side began the break with a 1-1 draw against the Netherlands - in which Szucs was unused. Hungary are third, level on points with the Netherlands in second, needing a top-two finish to guarantee their safety.

Darko Gyabi found the net for England U20s during their latest set of Elite League matches.

The loanee midfielder scored with a low drive from range to equalise against Italy, in a match the Young Lions went on to win 2-1.

Gyabi was also involved in a 3-0 win over Czechia at Doncaster Rovers' Eco-Power Stadium, as his side climbed to the top of the Elite League table, with ten points from their first four games.

Brendan Galloway's Zimbabwe side enjoyed a successful break, winning twice against Namibia to leave them on the cusp of Africa Cup of Nations qualification.
Galloway started both matches in South Africa, but came off in the first half in the second game.

The Warriors are four points clear of Kenya in third, with two matches to play. A draw with Kenya in the November internationals would secure their place at the 2025 tournament.

Mustapha Bundu's Sierra Leone had a mixed international window - but ended with a stunning win over African champions, Cote d'Ivoire.

Bundu was a first-half substitute in an initial 4-1 loss to the AFCON holders, but the Leone Stars followed this up with a shock 1-0 win to keep their qualification hopes alive, in which the forward played 73 minutes.

Sierra Leone are third in Group G, three points adrift of Zambia in second - who they play in the next break, as well as bottom-side Chad.

Freddie Issaka and Wales U19s enjoyed a thrilling double-header against Italy.

After a 3-3 draw, the Welsh youngsters completed a late comeback to win 4-3 in the second match.
Victor Palsson was an unused substitute in Iceland's UEFA Nations League games.

Iceland drew 2-2 with Wales, before a 4-2 home defeat to Turkey.

Plymouth Argyle injury updates on Ibrahim Cissoko and Brendan Galloway -

Pilgrims' boss Wayne Rooney has spoken about both players ahead of the Championship away game against Cardiff City on Saturday lunchtime

Plymouth Argyle defender Brendan Galloway was today having a scan on an ankle injury which he suffered while playing for Zimbabwe earlier this week.

Galloway is not expected to be available for the away Championship match against Cardiff City on Saturday (12.30pm). However, winger Ibrahim Cissoko is set to be part of the Pilgrims' squad in the Welsh capital despite not joining up with the Dutch under-21 squad for two games during the international break due to an injury.

Cissoko, the loan signing from French Ligue 1 club Toulouse, has been in excellent form for Argyle lately and head coach Wayne Rooney was optimistic about him being fit for the trip to play Cardiff.

Wayne Rooney will serve a one-match touchline ban when Plymouth Argyle play away to Cardiff City in the Championship tomorrow.

The Pilgrims' boss has also been fined £5,500 by an Independent Regulatory Commission after he admitted to three Football Association charges following the game against Blackburn Rovers at Home Park on October 5. While Rooney will likely watch from the directors' box at Cardiff he will be able to communicate with assistant head coach Pete Shuttleworth in the visitors' technical area.

Rooney reacted angrily to a late Blackburn equaliser against Argyle because he thought there had been a clear foul on Ryan Hardie before the goal was scored. Fourth official Jacob Miles called across referee James Linington, who showed him the red card.

Plymouth will start with Obafemi as the lone striker who wants the ball on the deck (5’ 7”) ….. but will almost certainly finish with Hardie (6’2”) at the closing stages ….to defend a lead if winning or to score a goal if losing …..ie they will go long ball .

We really need to win and can and should beat Plymouth …..but they are no slouches.

They do have good players up front namely two ex Swans …..Whitaker and Obafami …..plus two tricky ones Cisseko and Al Hajj (Lebanese). The pundits put us as firm favorites …..but really this flatters us . We need to be sharp and at our best for 90 minutes . If we take Plymouth for granted we will suffer .
