A forum for all things Cardiff City

From what I am hearing the next Cardiff manager will be Slaven Bilic, but contractually he is locked out of any job until Jan 1.
Heirarchy are also keen on Reading boss Selles, that might happen, if he severs his links with the Royals legally.
Tan wanted Giggs, but was talked out of it by his directors.

Would be happy with Bilic.
Has the experience needed.
Hopefully he can sort out his gardening leave because we can't afford to wait until January.
Pleased it's not Giggs, horrible person.

Kyle posted this the other day about Bilic, so it appears he might be right.
I'd be happy with Bilic, but like Ned has said, we need him before January.

Without saying the obvious, hope we don’t have to wait until 1 Jan 2025 to secure Bilic whom I agree is a good choice. Lest we could still be languishing at or near the bottom of the table with yet another season in shambles.
Surely the City could bring him in earlier and pay off his gardening leave to his last employers. Whilst this might be an extortionate amount, it would be worth every penny if our season could be put back on track.

on the plus side bilic can still work on what he thinks he needs b4 January and hopefully hit the ground running when the transfer window opens again.

Really hope this happens. Strong, seasoned manager who would challenge the board, unite the fan base and put the rest of the division on the back foot!

Typical city never take easy route? It's obviously not a case of paying up his contract? whilst can commend club for getting in some quality that all fans approve of equally be dangerous to wait until January! Let's hope its sorted quickly as not confident enough in riza to wait until January.

We can't wait until January though, it would be crazy.
My guess is they hope Bilic can sort out his gardening leave. If not, Selles is second choice.

He’s only lasted a season at most of his teams , but worrying tha
Sun Oct 13, 2024 5:35 pm
Next week will be telling,
If Selles has handed his resignation then he will be coming here.
We can't wait until Jan, that's too long and many games to go until then.
Sun Oct 13, 2024 5:36 pm
If Dicks is going to be his assistant, could he come and be in charge, albeit with instructions from Bilic until January with perhaps Riza helping out then Bilic can decide if he wants to keep him.

People want an experienced manager, that's what Bulut is.
He may have only had short spells at clubs but he was harshly sacked by Watford for example. They were four points off the play offs at the time and went backwards when he left.

Most managers in championship only last a season? 9 months to be precise is average time in job

Hopefully he can sort us out then and stay for the long term

You're spot on that we'll know what's happening if Selles resigns.

Oops I never saw it.

Tan will not pay ANY compensation for any manager in a job, Bilic and Seles are NOT the only names in the running, fact.

There must be 8 managers in frame that is a fact ! But not paying compensation is definitely not a "fact" as nothing as happened no matter what you think tan will or won't do.

Typical tan getting bad advice again .I know a lot of you don't want giggs due to his personal life but he was good for wales and I think he would get cardiff going in the right direction again

Don't want him anywhere near our club, bloke has no morals.

I think the suggestion is they want to get Bilic but only if he's available now. If he can't sort out his gardening leave, they'll look at other options.
Hope so anyway because I agree, can't wait until January.
Sun Oct 13, 2024 8:27 pm
I repeat it AGAIN WE CANNOT WAIT TILL JANUARY BOARD OR TAN SORT IT OUT RIZA IS NOT THE ANSWER!!!
Sun Oct 13, 2024 9:34 pm
Makes absolutely no sense to me. Either Bilic wants the job or he doesn't. I am sure his current employer would love him to end his stint with them, even 2 months. If Bilic wants to wait for Jan then that is a no then.
Still can't see what Selles has done to evoke so such clamour.
I can only see either schumacher, Lowe, Rowett or Neil

Being on gardening leave doesn't necessarily mean can buy out of contract? Coach from ncastle couldn't simply go to man c even though was put on gardening leave ... and the recent fifa case was based on similar problems.....
Said previously club surely put a time scale on it being resolved hence the wait.... January is not an option given availability of other decent coaches straight away.

If you're talking about the Sporting Director at Man Utd now, Dan Ashworth, then they had to pay millions to get him out of his contract at Newcastle.
I don't see us paying for Bilic to get out of his contract. He'll have to sort it out himself but it will mean negotiating because he won't want to lose the money he's owed.
