" We took the opportunity "

Tue Oct 22, 2024 8:45 pm

The two home games this week were games we had to target to win.

And we got the two wins.

We blew Plymouth away and did the same in the first half to beat Portsmouth.

The front skx are the big positive - Robinson, Robertson, Colwill, El Ghazi, Tanner and Turnbull. They've been brilliant.

The games get tougher now and I hope we can build on these positive results.

These games were an opportunity to pick up six points and we did.

Things look a lot better now but we need to press on and build on this.

WBA away is a free hit after these 2 great results.

Another clean sheet aswell.

Gents, we have a strongest 11!!

I think you should add Tanner into that as well.

You're right, meant to include him. Will edit that now.

For someone with limited pace El Ghazi doesn’t half get into some brilliant positions.

That 1 vs 1 chance he made that run several times during the game, not sure if it was poor defending or he just has that knack for losing a marker but he did it all game long. With some more game time and sharpness he’d be a hell of a weapon for us.

It’s also good to see with O Dowda behind him he has that side safe but does what the inverted wingers should and creates the overlap too

Slowly clawing that goal difference back, played 2 teams lacking quality compared to others we will come up against so it’ll be interesting to see how we do against WBA on Saturday

We sure did. Great play in both games.

We pressed high and fast, and looked really dangerous going forward.

It could have been a lot more than 2.

El Ghazi has been in some great positions, first touch letting him down a bit, but that's expected - hopefully he gets his full confidence back and he will he dangerous.

Reindorf should be playing in the first team over Meite imo. I have not idea what Meite offers? Seems slow and lethargic to me.

The form table for the last four matches, so the WBA game seems quite winnable or, at worst, a draw would be good if he kept the same starting eleven but added Reindorf and Jeffries instead of Meite and Kanga to the squad.

Sorry that it comes out all jumbled up, but it was in readable form when I pasted it to post, perhaps a mod can sort it out for me.

Put this in reverse and all teams mentioned would have targeted taking max points from us so job done by Riza.

Yes, many posters on here are against him because he has not been a manager of a championship side instead of praising him for what he has achieved in 5 games. I am looking forward to him being named manager of the month after the WBA game, despite the alleged curse it is supposed to have. even if he fails to get it, I am grateful to him for bringing back the excitement to our game, football as we know it is back at the Cardiff City Stadium

I'm undesided about him simply because if we have blip can he halt it due to inexperience? But as for his inexperienced in general people need to look at some of the so called successful coaches recently fair few are similar to riza! So for now we keep him and see where he takes us....we are certainly in a better place footballing wise.

Agree with you. Only several games, but praise where its due.
And the excitement at watching football at the CCS has returned - hopefully it will continue and no more turgid dullfest - forever banished.
