Robinson's shooting

Wed Oct 23, 2024 6:17 pm

Hope he's working on it in training this week.

One of the very few downsides yesterday was that we didn't score more again.

First half Robinson could have scored three more that he did!

Not a big issue last night but we'll have a lot more success if he takes more of his chances obviously.

He may well only get one decent goalscoring chance at WBA and we'll need him to take it.

Otherwise, his all round play has been brilliant.

Robbo will be looking forward to playing against his former club WBA .

Sorry put this under the WBA thread by mistake - must be old age).
I drove down for the Plymouth game from the North, and what pleased me most was the gulf in class between the two teams for 60 mins. ( until the subs).
I agree with your comment on Robinson, also El Ghazi put a cross onto his head 6 or 7 yards out. Unchallenged, but he missrd the target.
I guess that I am in a small minority but I am not a fan of Robinson. He has no pace, but sometimes his interplay and technique is quite good, All players jave strengths and weaknesses, but I like players who still work hard, not run near someone to make a challenge but then decelerate to avoid actually challenging or tackling.

If we had a decent centre forward we would be much higher in the league. :bluebird: :bluebird:

He'd never make it as a firearms officer in the met :laughing6:

4 goals in 9 games..
A goal every 121 minutes..

All that while also contributing so much to the build up play.

I think he's doing great, focus on the positives.

I have mentioned the positives.

But nobody can deny his shooting has been poor. Missed chances that he should have at least tested the keeper from.

It is possible to praise a player but also point out where they're falling short.

Seems like these days we're being unfair on players if we say they have anything other than a perfect game.

He's scoring for sure but just imagine if he hit the target rather than putting the ball in row z a couple of times when it was easier to test the keeper. There was one shot on Tuesday when he had all the time in the world to get a shot on target & it flew into the stands or into the Taff, who knows.

It seems like he's trying too hard sometimes but we can't complain too much when he's playing & scoring as he is. He's like a different player to last season or even this while Bulut was here & long may he continue.

Agree with that. That's the point I was trying to make, although you seem to have worded it better.
