BREAKING OMER RIZA: “ THURSDAY 24TH OCTOBER 2024 “

Thu Oct 24, 2024 6:54 am

:bluebird: “ OMER RIZA WILL UPDATE CARDIFF CITY FANS “ :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Thursday 24th October 2024

OMER RIZA IS ALREADY UNDER CONTRACT TILL JUNE 2025 / AS AN ASSISTANT MANAGER / JUST LEAVE IT TILL THEN AND JUST GIVE BONUSES TILL THEN & THEN DECIDE :

Omer Riza:

“I have moved the club in to a better position, now I would like clarity regarding the full-time job at Cardiff City.”

BUT

"I don't really want to talk about the job any more in respect of whether I'm right for it or wrong for it," he said. "It's down to the board now, any sort of communication in that respect."

"I want my players to take risks, that's part of our game, breaking lines, forward passes.”

“Rubin (Colwill) made some great dummies against Portsmouth, that allowed balls to go past the defence.”

“But sometimes when the game is changing, you need to have a touch, or take a couple of touches, especially when you're tired and losing energy and strength, you need to recognise those moments better."

City are away to WBA this Saturday

Cardiff have lifted themselves out of the Bottom 3 of the Championship after beating 3 sides from the Bottom 5 at home.

Injury update:

Skipper out for weeks
Cardiff captain Joe Ralls will be out for "a couple of weeks" owing to a leg injury , Ralls missed the thrashing of Plymouth and the win against Portsmouth.

Aaron Ramsey is back in light training, but still out for a few more weeks, maybe December.

Etete is out still, but is back in training.

Isaak Davies will be back in November

OMER RIZA:

“I think we will be forced to tighten things up against Albion, playing against a very good side. They’re very disciplined in possession and probably won’t allow us too much space, but we’ll keep trying to play the way we are in possession.”

"But out of possession we will have to be on our game to make sure we don’t lose the ball, and if we do lose the ball we don’t get hurt with it.”

OMER RIZA:

“ Regarding Mr Tan”

"We speak all the time about the same things, but other than conversation I had the other day, I have spoken to him since, so anything in respect of the position, I think it's best that the board answer those questions," he added.

Asked if there had been any update at all, Riza said: "Not in respect of the position, no."

OMER RIZA:

“WBA”

"There's no free hits in football," he said. "Obviously, you can look at it that way, but for us it's about gaining momentum and continuing our path in respect of not losing a game in three, and we want to continue that.”

"We're going away from home, to a tough opposition. For us, it's a really good test. For us it's to really see where we've come from and where we are at the moment, and where we're trying to get to at the moment. It's a great gauge we've got.

"There are some tough games coming up and we're fully motivated to try and get a result."

Cardiff will once again be without injured midfielder Aaron Ramsey, whose currently out with a hamstring injury.”

Omer Riza :

“Rallsy (Joe Ralls) is getting his treatment and he’s looking good. Around the Blackburn game, that sort of time, we’ll see him, hopefully. “

“They know we’re a strong squad. Everyone wants to play and providing everyone is working hard and they’re respectful towards one another and they support each other, everyone has got an opportunity to play. I’ve made that clear from the off.”

Omer Riza:

“WBA”

“I don’t think they’ve won in five, their form is not great, but they’re a good side, they’re disciplined out of possession, they’ve got attacking threats in possession and it’ll be a tough game, but it’s not one we’re frightened of.

“I feel there’s always a pressure to perform and win, that will never go away, that’s how football is. I think we’re in a good place at the minute and I think the boys are brimming with confidence, they’re happy. They want to perform, they want to perform for each other, the staff, the Club and the fans and all those things, that camaraderie that we’ve got at the minute, you can see it on the pitch. Their form hasn’t been great, but they’re a very good side.”

Omer Riza:

“I have moved the club in to a better position, now I would like clarity regarding the full-time job at Cardiff City.”

"I have chats with the owner all the time. I spoke to him this morning and he was very nice and polite," Riza said of his talks with Vincent Tan. "Clarity is always best because then you can really move forward with the plans the club's got in place or the plans I might have.”

“We are already planning for January and putting things in place.”

"Of course, it would be nice to have some clarity, but in the meantime what's important is that we are going well. We are getting the points and we have climbed off the bottom off the table.

"We're in a better position than we were there and that's important because from there you can always move forward.”

Re: OMER RIZA:

With Callum Robinson getting his fourth goal of the season, Omer shared his thoughts about the attacker's quality.

OMER RIZA:

“He’s the best finisher at the club.” he explained. “I’ve said it before, if you put him in and around the box, he’s going to finish. Left foot, right foot, he does it in training, does it in games, scores a varied goal, he can score from outside the box, he can score half space goals, he can get in on the back post and get his toe on the end of things.

“He’s a number 9 who can drop in and receive the ball, he can turn in tight spaces and he can provide passes - he’s been excellent.”

“Rubin ( Colwill) id making the position his own and is controlling the midfield and he is running in to positions as well as putting the ball in the box time and time again.”

“Rubin made some great dummies against Portsmouth, that allowed balls to go past the defence.”

Re: OMER RIZA:

The Baggies’ manager is Carlos Corberán, who has been in the role since October 2022.

The Spaniard’s first senior managerial experience was with Cypriot side Doxa, before going on to being named manager of Leeds United’s U23s.

During his time at Elland Road, Corberán moved up to the first team under boss Marcelo Bielsa, whilst also working with the U23s.

Switching to Huddersfield Town in 2020, Corberán guided the Terriers to the Championship Play-Off Final in 2022, where the side were narrowly defeated by Nottingham Forest.

After a spell with Olympiacos, he moved to West Bromwich Albion for his second spell as a manager in the English second tier.

Since being appointed, Corberán has won 44 of his 96 games in charge, a win percentage of 45.83%.

Omer Riza:

“ Ramsey “

Riza admits he's not sure if the 33-year-old will be available for selection, as Wales boss Craig Bellamy prepares for the upcoming games with Turkey and Iceland.

"I'm not sure in what capacity he could be available for Wales or not. I don't have any part to play in what Wales do," he added.

"Time-frame wise, it was three to four weeks. I think that takes us up to that period. For me if he hasn't played any domestic football up until that point, it will probably be quite difficult for him to feature in any sort of footballing capacity.”

"But like I said, he might be there to go in and support the players in another capacity. I understand it, and if those conversations take place and I get the call from Craig, I'm quite happy to have a chat."

“For me we are looking at December for a fit Ramsey.”

OMER RIZA:

“It’s been brilliant for the boys, for the Club, the staff and the fans,” Omer began. “You want to win games, build momentum and morale, and I think we’re going in the right direction.

“You approach every game like you want to create chances. We’ve changed the system, which allows players to be in positions where we can be more of a threat. We’ve given them a little bit more freedom to be able to find space and occupy positions against the opposition that cause a problem and create more opportunities.

“With more opportunities, hopefully, come more goals and we’ve been fortunate up to now that we’ve been able to create a lot of opportunities and score goals. We just need to make sure we keep that up, keep working hard and you’re not always going to have games where you create 20-25 chances or shots in games, so we’ll keep working hard and continue.”

Ralls is a big miss.

Quite clear that our game suffered when Siopis and Rinomhota came on for Robertson and Turnbull.

When we have Ralls as one of those players to come on, it won't effect us as badly.

Hmmmmmmm?

Japanese centre-back Ryotara Tsunoda remains out following hamstring surgery at the end of last season and forward Isaak Davies (also hamstring) is about three weeks away from action.

Finally, young attacker Cian Ashford is a doubt as he’s been suffering from a back ailment recently.
