Fair play did very well in League 1 Scoring goals


This season since his good start has hardly scored in The Championship 4 goals / 13 appearances , mainly in the first couple of games.


The Championship is way higher level

Oxford having a bit of a wake up call that the Championship is a lot tougher.

Had a decent start to the season, probably from the momentum of being promoted and being in the higher league.

But now haven't won any of their last seven games, drawing most of them.

If I remember it correctly I think he scored 4 goals in their first 4 games, hasn't scored since, and in the game he started for Wales he was largely anonymous. Big step up from League 1 to championship let alone International level.

Missed a sitter against Bristol City and since then his confidence has notably dropped. Much like when he was at Cardiff a streaky player. His all round play has dropped a bit too. Oxford have started playing Dane Scarlett up front and he scored two in two and looks more of a player.

The seven games without a win have included Luton away which they should have won, Bristol City away when they outplayed them for 65 mins and hit bar and missed a sitter to make it two nil. Burnley, West Brom and Sunderland have been amongst the other games and it’s two losses and five draws. Derby home was the problem. Missed a few chances at one nil and then Derby came back into it second half.

Currently they have their first choice left back (Bennett) injured, their best midfielder (Brannagan) and four wingers (Phillips, Placheta, Dembele and Edwards) also injured. Two big home games coming up v Swansea and Hull. The midfield and wide areas are looking tired. The pressing game they play is tough to keep up. Goodrhem has played every minute of every league game.

I am convinced there are a number of clubs worse than Oxford in this league. Portsmouth look dire, Plymouth and Preston. I don’t think Luton will stay down there but Derby, QPR, Sheff Wed are others they can finish above. They are still above Cardiff as well and I think the Oxford first team is better than Cardiffs.

The Oxford manager is top class too and they will have money to spend in January.

Agreed, comparing our current players when we know we have No real quality Striker.

The fact remains Harris Struggled for like 7 years in the Championship, was worse than any.

I was well chuffed when he found his right league, League 1.

But the facts are their once again Struggling in the Championship big time.

This isn’t an ‘us v them’ post - it’s a ‘let’s not make out he’s completely garbage when he’s actually better this season than all bar one of our strikers’ post.

Totally agree. He isn’t struggling in the championship. He’s joint 7th top scorer. Does a lot of channel running and pressing.
