Relegation could be back on!

Sat Nov 09, 2024 2:34 pm

After the little burst of points with a fresh temporary manager at the helm, it's back to the usual lacklustre performances.
I walked out early today to avoid the booing at the final whistle.

Sorry boys, but this squad are not up to it at Championship level. This will be a relegation fight for certain.

No clear cut chances created throughout. Blackburn always comfortable. We deserved nowt!

Yes, we need an established manager with some fresh ideas, but more than anything, we need new players.

I don't believe any manager will get a consistant tune out of this mob.
Unfortunately, I cannot see the quality we need arrive in January to lift us up the table! :(

Some actually thought our problems were over with Riza in charge a few games ago!

Relegation has never been off the table has it. We have no strikers worthy of the name without CR47. Reindorf sitting in U21s

It was never off.

At this stage of the season, with the way the table is at the moment, a win takes you near the play offs and a defeat puts you down at the bottom again.

Need three or four consecutive wins to really get the breathing space.

We were nevver out of it.

One or two of us had hope that we were going to push up the table but it only takes a poor run of results to be back down there. i thought our squad was not up to it before the good run of results and was hoping to eat humble pie. Now that pie is in the cooker still heating up.

We need that strike and this run must surely tell the club that is what is needed to survive this season. We cannot rely on an attacking midfield to get us our goals.

We were top of the form league mind, that is a solid achivement in this crazy league. Being smug to optimistic fans after a loss is not a classy look.

Sheff Wed, QPR and Coventry coming up next. If we can get a minimum of 5 points from those, reckon we'll climb out of the bottom 3 again.

Relegation on for around 10 clubs if count from bottom to
Around 11th only 4 points separate us so guess relegation is possibility for those upto 11th... 4weeks time that will change.

I don't know whether Riza is the answer or not- i think probably not- but we were in danger of being cut adrift and he has at least steadied the ship. Now we are one of many teams who can climb the table with a few wins

Apart from the obvious lack of an alternative to Robinson this is not a bad squad when fit.

There's 3 points between 14th place and Us in 22nd shows how mad the championship is this season after 1/3 of the season played more or less. Although there's six points between us and 11th.

Two or three wins it looks different from now. In another few games the gaps between them places I mentioned will get much bigger as we go on so let's hope we are mid table by then and a good points gap from the bottom four but anything can happen with results in this league. Look at Millwall they lost against us then go and beat Leeds, Burnley, Plymouth and the scum down the road.

Always nice to have something to play for.

Its a tricky one, because Riza was working within before given the reins. And now the players are speaking highly of him, that was not happening under the dreadful Bulut. He has improved the offensive game and the dressing room, two vital failures for Bulut. But the last three games were quite Bulut like in many aspects though we did a smash and grab with Norwich. I appreciate of course that these are Buluts players and he coached the shit out of them.

Despite doing really well, It just wont sit well with me having a man responsible for a relegation battle that only previously managed Orient for 7 games with one win, and that is it. Plus without meaning to do Riza a disservice, Tan himself could have improved the team if he was manager that was how bad Bulut was! We need an experienced football manager to steer us away from the congestion at the bottom and be ready for the transfer window with good contacts. And finally make strides in improving the striker/no bodies in the box conundrum.

But an experienced manager could look at our position, look at the revolving door and lack of funds caused by Tan and think nah! I am sure that there will be some that wont. We are not as big a club as some think we are , we could and should be, but we are not.

I am so grateful to Riza, I like him, he has brought the smiles and passion back to CCS but he is not my man, his lack of experience worries me, he has had a run, we know what he is all about, he has made mistakes and pulled off some real positives, and if he stays on I so hope he proves me wrong, but whatever, we need to make a decision! Many tough games ahead, we need that first away win, We are in the basement , relegation could be back on, we need to get out! A concrete decision with or without Riza will surely help.

no need to panic now, there are about 6 other teams on the same points as us.
Panic when we are cut adridt at the bottom with the points gap being 8-10 points.
But I doubt we will be cut adrift due to how poor QPR and Pompey are at the moment.
