Gareth Ainsworth

Shows how quickly a manager's fortunes can change.

Not long ago, he was doing well at Wycombe over many years and some people were saying they'd want him as our manager.

Went to QPR and struggled.

Now set to be named the new manager of bottom of League One team, Shrewsbury.

10 years ago Gary Monk was Premier League manager of the month, the Jacks sat joint top of the Premier League and there was even talk of him being a future England manager. He now manages Cambridge United who sit just above Ainsworth team at the bottom of League One and lost 6-1 on Saturday at their local rivals.

But at least they're experienced managers. In all seriousness it shows how experience isn't everything.

His football isn’t pretty. Now whether that was due to limitations of budget etc or not I don’t know but still.

However, one of his players got badly injured in a match and he left with them and stayed the night in hospital. Thought that was pretty cool.

My mate met him in Spain and said he was class as a bloke as well.
