What do the letters down the side mean?

Guessing the first means top, because after that it's ABCD.

But the list is totally wrong. Been to both Ipswich v Norwich and West Brom v Wolves - each of those are extremely hostile for UK levels.

It starts with red, so I assume it’s in order of volatility, and I’d tend to agree with the assessment of Celtic/Rangers being at the top. Those two have genuine hatred for each other…

Our position versus the upstarts is probably about right, particularly since the ‘bubble’ was introduced; but I’m sure the depths of jealous hatred for their capital club from the other end of the M4 (Wales) would have them claiming otherwise… :ayatollah:

The hatred between Rangers and Celtic is poisonous and for that reason it’s probably the biggest rivalry, however the actual matches are not the best in the U.K. for passion, as away fans are now banned. For me it’s killed the atmosphere to a degree.

Interested in your view because I watched the latest match between them and thought the same.

The fact they play each other four times in the league probably takes a bit away as well.

Compared to two times in the English leagues.

Man Utd v Liverpool was missed out too, arguably the biggest rivalry in England.

I disagree with this totally

In my days when I photographed 3 matches per week I covered quite a few of these derbies and I can honestly say that, in my opinion, the Cardiff-v-Swansea derby matched Rangers-v-Celtic for hostility.

I have photographed four "old firm" derbies and, for hostility, a coin thrown by a Cardiff Supporter is the only time I have ever been hit on the head LOL!

Forest-v-Derby I've done once at Pride Park and it was relatively tame.

ManU-v-ManCity is just two decent sides. One set of supporters from Manchester the other from London or abroad.

Everton-v-Liverpool is really tame in comparison. Both sides remember the now 97 who died as a result of Hillsborough.

Blackburn/Preston-v-Burnley can be a little spicy but like I said Rangers-v-Cektic and Cardiff-v-Swansea are the two major derbies in my opinion and being "pitch side".

Thoughts on Man Utd v Liverpool?

I put that high on the list, oldest rivalry in England they say.

Personally think it's a bigger rivalry than the derbies in Manchester or Liverpool.

Man Utd Leeds is quite a venomous fixture

4 times plus cup games obviously diminishes it too.
Agree about Man U v Liverpool.

I agree. It's bigger than Liverpool-v-Everton and bigger than city-v-United

I would put it as an "A" behind the south wales and glasgow derbies.

Shocked Leeds are not mentioned at all ,them and Bradford can be very tasty I've been told ,and Leeds and man utd not a derby I know but think they will be very surprised to be left out ....

I remember back in the days of ceefax and Teletext :old: One of them ran a pole of the biggest derbies in the UK. They had a list of 10 to choose from but Cardiff V Swansea wasn't on there. However there was an option of voting for your own but had to enter the fixture yourself. At the end of the voting Cardiff V Swansea was second behind the old firm derby.

I thought then as I still do now, our derby is totally underrated by the English media.

Villa-Brum is legit hate! That is worthy to be up there, specifically as they've been more apart than not. A recent one ended up with Grielish taking a left hook from behind with the scumbag ending up in prison and sliced up in his first few days inside.

How many of those derbies still have bubble trips as the only way that away supporters can attend the game?
