A lot of negativity on here tonight

Just been reading through the threads after today's game.

I had pre-arranged plans today so didn't have chance to watch it and therefore can't add my thoughts on the level of performance.

But there's a lot of negativity and, in general and just not based on today (because I can't fairly comment on how we played without having seen it), I would definitely agree with the general feeling.

Riza is not the person to take us forward in the long term.

Are we in a better position than when he took over? Absolutely yes, that's undeniable.

But it's also undeniable that we couldn't get any worse.

He has won four games so let's look at each of those.



Millwall - not an impressive win on the face of it but fair play, Millwall have done well since then so in hindsight that's a good win. But Millwall had chances to have us beat by half time.

Plymouth - now it's clear that Plymouth away from home are not Championship level. They've lost seven, drawn two and won none. Worth remembering they went down to ten men in the first half too.

Portsmouth - another team who have struggled away. They've won one away and that's against a poor QPR team.

Norwich - looks like a good win but in reality we were fortunate. Alnwick did well to keep it at 1-0 and we got two late goals, the first of which via a fortunate deflection.


More worryingly, we still can't find an away win.

Today was a good chance to get that and we didn't.

I'll be at Coventry, hopefully it'll be then - but I'm not holding my breath.



In summary, Riza has beaten two teams we should have beaten. He's also won two more, but the game should have been gone by then.

QPR in midweek is another game he should win so my mind won't be changed if he does.

The problem is we don't have many home games left against the poorest teams in the league.


What we need is a manager who can get us wins against the odds and get us an away win finally.

Some may disagree but I honestly don't think Riza is that manager.

I personally don't believe the club have a plan but I really really hope they do.

Maybe it's for Bilic to take over in January - that I would be happy with.

I just hope we're not cut adrift too much by then.


We will see.

I don’t think we will ever progress as a football club until Tan and his two puppets/muppets are out of the club.

We are stuck in this constant state of ups and downs which will eventually lead to a down (relegation) that it will take us a while to recover from.

Wednesday is a crucial need to win game because if dont there will be less teams we can easily catch... after today was 3 more can't catch easily .... that's why need to win

For me the bottom line is when Riza took over we had 1 point and 1 goal and was deservedly rooted to the bottom of the league.So when Bulut had his bullet it was all about points and not about anything else,which I believe has been achieved so far.
Most on here would have taken the points tally so far before Riza first game so let’s keep the negativity down til January when we should know who’s in charge and some ins and outs.

I thought that was the worst we’ve played for a long time, Darland to slow , Kanga & Metie shouldn’t be near the 1st team , get Reindorf & Ashford in squad before them

The honeymoon is over and reality is back.

We are firmly in this relegation fight and its going to be a long season. Bulut has keft us right in it.

The league is analysed to hell and back after 4 games teams have sussed us. We get outmanned in the middle, Colwill is great with multiple ball, but he has only dominated games when our midfield wins the battle and they haven't now since Portsmouth.

I am disappointed we haven't gone 3421 and pack the middle. That would show development. CO'D and Tanner wingbacks, 2 sitters, and 2 attacking midfielders.

Rizas sustem is a more attacking and open version of every managers 4231. Our attacking quartet are not up to much, sacrifice one for another midfielder and get some control again!

Riza played tanner on the left which broke up our rhythm he is ually on the right and has a good thing going with perry ng and colwill,
So that threw our attack and then went 5 at the back with 3 left footers ,
bagan o'dowda tanner all on the left in each others way,
tanner should have moved to the right wing o'dowda pushed up and bagan left Back really could not understand what was going on perry was pushing up the wing but nobody there to work with.

Like I said, a lot of negativity which seems fair going by recent results and sounds like we were very poor yesterday.

Don't normally agree but your right last 3 games are bloody awful, back to the slow football playing out from the back nonsense. And to play kanga and metie before our youngsters is criminal.

Reindorf injured or something else as he wasn't in the main squad or the u21s this last week?

We did ok it was a good point to pick up on the road our downfall is we cannot play against teams with a good press we are 2 slow playing out of the back if it’s on it’s got to be done quickly and with intent this is why our away form is so bad home teams to press we can’t beat the press no can we press ourselves we haven’t got the legs nor pace to do it no 10 for them Saturday run the show for them always looking get on ball keeping them moving
