I get that that but to his credit he was in training and on the right lines. I wish him well and hope to see him play soon. However - Etete had his injury in July and won’t be back until about the same time. He did not have surgery. So that is about 23-24 weeks out with a hamstring injury. That is just incredible.

Surgery often means back earlier but unfortunately not all injuries can have Surgery even if appear the same... are ghry set backs or the science staff saying need more time contrary to what was originally said about length time out.... gone are days players came back when felt OK now it's after analytical study of fitness stats.

Clubs will also want to avoid players having surgery unless absolutely necessary.
Surgery can lead to more issues and shorten players' careers. Ramsey is an example, has had several operations which has had a detrimental impact on his overall fitness.
Obviously with Davies and Ramsey there was no choice but to have surgery, but it's best to avoid surgery if possible.
