Just seen the penalty decision

Sat Nov 30, 2024 5:11 pm

Walking away from the ground and seen a clip of the penalty.

Awful decision.

Even VAR would have ruled that out.

Even the Coventry commentators thought we were hard done by.

It's a difficult one. His arm is in what they call an un-natural position and the ball does hit his arm so under today's rules it's a penalty.

If it was the other way around, most Cardiff fans would be saying it's a penalty.

I have to agree.

My issue is the consequence.

They say it has to have consequence for the foul to be given.

I just don't see the ball going to a Coventry player so in my view it fails the consequence test.

Ffs it's not a pen, he's running at speed to try and block a cross. You can't run at speed with arms by your side. Officials have got no common sense and most can't wait to give a decision against us. Would have been a massive 3 points. Coventry were a poor side, there's quite a few in the championship this season.

The rules may be crap but if we go by them it’s a penalty.

Pretty sure when the ball hits him it's actually out of play

Probably right about other way around but! None of their players kicked up a fuss so if wasn't given nothing said their needed to be face to face conversation between officials so that right decision is made lino could say it his arm but ref could say wasn't deliberate to close to him ect it looks simply lino calls pen ref says OK that wouldn't happen in premier league....

Also Chambers is looking away so I don't see how it can be given, as the rules say it has to deliberate hand ball, plus his arm is pretty close to and across his chest. It's not as though he was waving his arm around above his head.

Awful penalty decision.

That's one of the worst I've seen given against us.

Running around the penalty area with your hands behind your back is the most un natural position I can think of.

When moving what is a natural position? Yes seen them given but got to look at it from a footballing slant ref doesn't give it lino says penalty ref should have gone over to Ask him what did he base decision on then can have more informed opinion... whilst may have been given in premier league most certainly officials would have had con flab before var involvement... we was robbed :o

I'll say it again, there was little consequence attached to the handball - it wasn't falling to a Coventry player.

We were told this season that it had to be a foul/handball that "has consequence" for it to be given.

This didn't.

His handball at Luton was more of a penalty than this.
