Credit where due - but disappointing

Sat Dec 14, 2024 4:56 pm

Fair play to Riza and the team today, a much better performance.

Alright, Stoke were poor but so have we been lately.

I thought Riza chose the completely wrong team but fair play to him, proved people like me wrong.

BUT YET AGAIN WE THROW AWAY TWO POINTS AT THE END - VERY DISAPPOINTING

Willock my MOTM because he did well for the second goal.

So a better performance, but still no away win.

Absolutely gut wrenching equaliser.

Very disappointed that we didnt get the win. But credit to the team, and to Riza for changes made upfront. Nice to see 11 players put in a shift.
Agree Willock m of m, closely followed by Rhino El Ghazi and Siopis. They all played pretty well!!!!!

I thought the team he picked was awful, but to be fair they looked the better team out of the two. Ralls O'dowda and Willock played really well.
We struggle to shut up shop again

First of all I was looking for a performance for the shirt .bold changes today by riza he had to do something. Much better today as a team so gutted for us not to take all the points we deserved it.
Consistency now take that into the next game now.
Wilock for me and about time

In reality we did shut up shop but for blunders by anwick ... defenders for once didn't make a mistake and really can't fault them for goals.

Very disappointed. No need to give free kick. Goalie either stay on your line or smash everyone to punch the ball away.

It's funny how all teams in last minute give away those types of free kicks? Simply stay on him and usher him back to his own goal... but that didn't cost us the goal unless we say no free kick anwick doesn't mess up?

I agree but we looked far better than them until we started defending deeper. Sometimes I just wish we'd carry on going forward.

Riza, chose to defend the last 15 mins we sat back

Re: Credit where due - but disappointing

Alnwick went from hero with his starfish save to zero with that coming off his line, all in the last few minutes. Again a silly free kick (penalty last time) sees us give away points.

Fair play to Riza, that was a brave thing to do putting out that thing & it seemed to work.

We were ok until Robertson came on, as he gave the throw in away when he miscued his clearance, and then fouled their player from the throw in. They scored from the resulting free kick, with Alnwick committing himself fully without getting near the ball. Very deflating ending indeed, but a better showing, and even Kanga showing great strength in Stoke’s box.

Alnwick with a Jekyll and Hyde performance,at fault for 2 goals but some good saves.Overall a good performance :bluescarf:

Much better but why towards the end we are on the attack and instead of going for the goal we start f*cking passsing it around ffs , just go for the win , stop f*cking around and wtf is kanga coming on for ? Reindorf looks strong and hungry , get him on instead ffs , so frustrating at the end
Well done to willock and rhino

Why are you having a go at Kanga? He did nothing wrong, held the ball up well & basically did what he came on for, actually defended well when he had to as well. He's usually crap but why complain about him today? Did he give away the free kick? Did he miss an open goal? What exactly did he do that warrants your complaining about him?

The ball went towards their keeper and instead of chasing it down he stood still again , waste of space , it’s different when watching the game live , I see how lazy he is , reindorf would of made a difference , kanga didn’t

We'll it is something teams do when do we tend to do the attacking at home? Last 15 minutes teams away tend to rely on breakaway last 15mins yes we may have sat back last 15 mins but never really looked like conceding goal either...I know why anwick came out but it was not nessasary given where ball went it showed the header was going nowhere but to anwick! But unfortunately he wasn't where he would have been able to pick ball up....instead he was floundering punching nothing not even their player.... :o

Re: Credit where due - but disappointing

What was keeper doing for the last goal shocking was never getting the ball, that’s 3 away games we’ve been leading and thrown it away which goes to show for me it’s a mix of the manager being so negative and trying to hang out and the lack of leaders on the pitch to see games out

Re: Credit where due - but disappointing

Sat Dec 14, 2024 6:55 pm

I thought we were on the front foot a lot when we were leading, all teams pile on the pressure when they're behind with 10 minutes to go & I don't think we went negative at all. Like the penalty against us this is nothing to do with the manager, just people doing stupid things in the last minutes.

Re: Credit where due - but disappointing

Sat Dec 14, 2024 7:02 pm

Much better performance by a starting line up I would never have picked in a million years

But let’s not get carried away Stoke were woeful and any decent team would have beaten them easily

I will take the point though

Totally agree with you who's doing the attacking last 15mins at home? We are because teams naturally revert to counter attacking at this point especially when winning....very frustrating today we looked fairly comfortable most games yet 2 mistakes by same person cost us the points nothing else .

It was a brave selection, very much so and it nearly paid off
Agree, with the above posts. Nothing wrong with tactics but just silly individual errors
Alnwick has been decent this season, for me
