Riza: We are looking at home and abroad in January
Omer Riza revealed everything was on the table heading into the January window, with a longlist of permanent and loan transfers from both the UK and abroad having been drawn up.
Riza is confident he has "done his homework" and is ready to go with his list of targets next month.
“ I have done my homework and everything is lined up for January.”
“Whether it be free players, we are always looking," he said. "A longlist and a shortlist of players. We are down to have meetings with the board regarding transfers pretty soon and we can look once the window opens. Hopefully we will be in a good place.”
"I think there will be an option of whether it will be loan or permanent, all depending on what the remit is when we sit down and have those final discussions about how we are going to approach it.

Totally embarrassing. Same old drivel. We might get one or two rubbish players in if Tan agrees. Will bring Wintle and maybe king back but not Colwill. His reasons for the latter is ridiculous. Says he will benefit elsewhere and we have other players here already but that is nonsense as Ralls is unpredictable, Ramsey is knackered and Turnbull is out for the season. Joel is a young enthusiastic and fit person. But of course Riza and the footballing genius Purse obviously know better

Spot on, whatever you think about Vincent Tan and the current board of directors, Riza is in the tightest spot I can remember any of our managers being in.

I'm not a supporter Of Vincent Tan or the board but I just think Rizza is in a tight spot. Please excuse my opinion.

If Riza is in a tight spot don't forget that he was absolutely desperate to be in the position he is now.
I have no sympathy for him.
He has entirely brought this on himself.

Don’t forget Riza knew all this and accepted it.

100% Exactly.

I have no idea why some of you seem to think that having a go at Riza every time he says something is productive & calling anyone who disagrees with you names like Tan lover, Dalman's pet or a whole host of other names that people have been called. First of all, supporting the team & the manager is NOT supporting Tan, Dalman, Choo or anyone else who is part of the board & second of all it's childish & serves no purpose whatsoever.
Like I keep saying, Support the team not the regime,
And that should include supporting the manager, cheap option or because nobody else was crazy enough to take a 6 month contract or whatever reason he's here.
As for wanting him to be honest & truthful, your idea of that may be different to his OR maybe he just wants to stay in his job a little longer. How long do you think he would last if he said "Tan is an idiot & there's no money for players so suck it up buttercup"?

We if he said nothing that will also be something to beat him with? Probably better to sound as if he's doing something sounds better on the news...

Although I don’t think Riza will have what it takes, I do partially agree that perhaps backing an inexperienced manager (Ole) has hurt us in the past and limiting what he can do in January seems an “ok” decision.
They have, as others have said, brought this on themselves but it would be 100% worse if he was experienced and not backed

There’s no point having a go at Riza he’s probably been told to draw up a shortlist and we will see what we can do
The people who should be in the firing line are Choo and Dalman…they should be answering these questions
However, they have yet again gone AWOL when the going gets tough…they are spineless and pathetic never around to face the fans
Useless the both of them!!

Totally agree Paul Millar. Absolutely spot on
Thu Dec 19, 2024 11:44 pm
Let's hope it is better than last season ... Remember last season we got in our players on the last 2 days in JAN
Thu Dec 19, 2024 11:58 pm
So what he’s trying to say, Colwill, Evans, and Wintle will return back. Kanga sent back to his club, as he’s done nothing. We tried hard to get our targets, but we just couldn’t get it over the line. Nothing against Riza, but he’s just repeating what the board has told him to say.
