I think they have a point, we hardly hear away fans at the CCS and they’re definitely quieter since the move.
Home and away atmospheres have been affected in my opinion.

That's definitely the case in these smaller stadiums but in the super-big stadiums it's a different story.
For example at St James's Park, the atmosphere is quite good despite the away fans being in a different postcode to the main vocal home support.
But I get your point about the smaller new stadiums.
But I also often think people like to blame the stadium for a bad atmosphere.
Don't buy that a good atmosphere can't be made at CCS because we've had it before when we were in the PL and for big Wales matches. It's true that NP had some unbelievable atmospheres but there were also some days when the atmosphere was very grim there.

So why do city fans want the opposite?

Because there’s no doubting that a bit of banter between fans makes for a better atmosphere. Both home and away fans are affected if you take that away.

I agree...so Brighton willing to sacrifice that in hope that home fans sound louder than away fans which is rare unless few away supporters at game.....talk about trying to gain an inch of home advantage ..

Yeah it’s a little weird. I think it’ll end up detrimentally affecting the atmosphere across the board.
