" Cian Ashford "

Fair play to him, did well today.

Should have scored in the first half but otherwise put in a great performance.

Deserved to be in the winning team.

Hopefully he stays in the team.

Definitely offers more than Rubin Colwill, who has been poor for a while.

He made a difference with his pace today. Fingers crossed he gets an extended run in the starting lineup now

Ashford was my man of the match today, his work rate and tracking back was fantastic. I also hope he gets a good run in the team.

Why use a thread about the good performance of one player to once again have a go at Rubin. Totally unnecessary and out of order IMO.

Not really.

I'm praising Ashford and just saying he's done better than another player in that position has done lately.

No different to saying Robinson did better that Meite has.

Totally agree
I’ve been calling for him to start and fair play he didn’t disappoint.
Very old head on shoulders for his assist and not to shoot :notworthy:

So pleased that he’s done well. I didn’t think that he was the answer but good for him. We certainly need some pace in attack.

Then why didn't you create a thread saying Robbo did better than Meite, or does that not suit your agenda.

Because I know others will say that.

You seem to think it's illegal to criticise players just because they came from the academy. I profoundly disagree.

The point is that Ashford had a good game, even though you seem determined to derail this thread.

Where have I said that criticising our academy players is illegal, no player is immune from criticism. However constantly slagging one player off at every opportunity in my opinion is wrong and can effect their mental health as most players read this forum and social media.

As I said in the match thread, I'll give my honest opinion. They have people around to support them if they need it.

Nobody on here has given a second thought about the mental health of Meite, Kanga or even Riza.

Why is Colwill so different?

Why is Colwill so different?

The fact that the club employs someone to help the players mental health because of abuse they receive on social media speaks volumes.

Take Brennan Johnson, he had loads of abuse on social media so he deactivated his accounts, then scored in 7 consecutive games. It affects their mental health.

If you're asking me to stop giving my honest opinion then I won't.

I also highly doubt others will stop criticising players.

It's a bit of a weird argument. A bit like asking opposing politicians to be nice to each other in case negative comments affect their mental health.

True, but in an attacking position.

Still say he offered more than Colwill has for months - which isn't difficult.

But the point is that Ashford did well today.

Yes he's on the buzz of starting and being up for it. Same as rubin was couple months ago. Consistency is the big thing and not many has it at moment

Yes you are correct and it's what makes this forum fun and interesting.

However, when I think that constant negative comments about a single player from one poster may well have a detrimental effect on that players mental health, I'll voice my opinion.

There was talk the last few weeks ago that Ashford could go on loan come Jan - I Can think of few before him to go out first.

100%
I'm buzzing that Cian got a league start through merit. Hopefully Issak gets a start when he's fit. Would love to see these 2 along with Reindorf, Eli King and Joel Colwill as regular starters in the next couple of seasons :bluebird:

Then I await your criticism when the usual suspects call Kanga & Meite etc. names & criticize everything they do which you have failed to take any notice of so far.
