Omer Riza on Callum Robinson: “In training he’s looked rea

Mon Dec 30, 2024 8:24 am

Omer Riza on Callum Robinson:

“In training he’s looked really sharp. I’ve taken him out for a couple of games and I think it’s done him well. He’s shown eagerness in training, gone out there today and scored a great first goal. To score the second goal and go on to win it, we deserved it.’

That’s 8 goals in 17 appearances this season for Callum Robinson

When you haven't won for weeks the sensible thing to do is to rest the only man in the club capable of scoring a few goals??? WTF? :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Where does it say that he took him out to give him a rest? Or did you just decide that was the reason to have a moan?

Right at the top of this thread mate, or did you not read it?

Still don't see where it says it was to give him a rest so either I'm going blind (could be at my age) `or it doesn't say for a rest anywhere.

Where exactly in this statement does it say for "a rest"?

Taken him out for a couple of games isn't the same as for a rest, it could be that or it could be "because he was whining & waving his arms around to zero effect too much".

Riza says "I've taken him out for a couple of games". To me that means it was the managers decision, not injury based. So if that's not resting him, I don't know what is. Perhaps we're interpretting it differently.

Let's be fair on Riza here.

Robinson was underperforming.
He tried to use meite
And despite meite trying hard, he can't produce the same.

Seems Robinson knuckled down and it paid off v Watford....

All comes back to not having that forward we all knew we needed a for the past few seasons. Squad does not have genuine class goal threats. ...

Need to cwtch Robinson as he's the closest we have.....

I think Moore would have improved us, but in a better team he has a worse record than Robinson.

Robinson can finish, he just drifts in some games when he plays conservatively. He gets left out and comes out buzzing, just a shame he seems to lose the buzz. Both in the team would be a force, what Robinson lacks (aerial ability) Moore has in abundance.

I bring Moore up as, he was our last 20 goal per season striker and also the messiah so many seem to think would have prevented our current position
