1. We're not linked with anyone
2. Riza must be the only manager in the past 10 years who hasn't used his press conferences to angle for better/more players, with probably the biggest need for additions.
Tan written all over this, I assume..
1. We haven't got any plans to spend cash
2. Riza was likely told as part of the deal for him to get into the big chair, he's not to complain about his squad or dream of spending any cash in January.
A quick google:
Hull:
Selles told Hull Live: “We have constant communication every day. We know the profiles that we want, and then the club works hard to get those profiles.
“Yes, I think we are close, but again, Jared (Dublin – Hull’s Head of Recruitment) is making those negotiations and preparing the transfer window for us, and we expect that in the first few days of the transfer window, we will get one or two players to support us.
“That’s what we aim for.”
Pompey:
‘We are under no illusions. We want to go into January and strengthen the squad and be a lot better than we’ve been for the first half of the season.’
Plymouth:
Plymouth Argyle well advanced over two January transfer window signings
Director of football Neil Dewsnip addressed the topic when he was a guest on Argyle TV's 'The Breakfast Show' on Saturday morning
Note the activity, but then also note that these clubs have "director of football" and "head of recruitment" - we have an inexperienced management team, and AWOL board and an owner who doesn't want to invest...

Won't be surprised if we sign nobody but bring back a few loan players.
It's not enough.

Surely Kanga has to go back which would leave at least one option free?
But you're right that there's a possibility that we won't sign anybody.

Yeah can see Kanga going back on day one. Even if we don't terminate it, his club would probably recall him anyway.

Not expecting anyone but maybe loan or two comes in? The chicken better have running shoes on if crossing the Rd!
But no sighnings is a big risk and i feel fatal one by tan

I can see Tan entering panic mode. He planned to tick along mid-table and maybe have a pop at 6th. We spent in the summer, but none of them play except Robertson, but they were young.
I expect a few signings along the same lines. It's about the bottom line for Tan so spending a few million on a youngster balances the assets side of the ledger. L1 will be disastrous for him.

Why would his club want him back? They must be over the moon that they manged to get such a waste of space off the payroll.

Read that they want to recall him.
Hasn't done well for us but remember he was playing and scoring in Belgium last season.
They won't be happy that he's our on loan and not playing, neither would we if we had a player out on loan that wasn't playing.

i see no changes coming no new manager no signings recall of some of our own and the 2 mentioned including ramsey.

Surely even Tan who is thick as dog shit when it comes to making football decisions can see we will go down without a few decent additions
We still need a new manager as well!!

We have a manager & in my opinion the only "new" manager we're going to see any time soon is Purse, so which would you prefer given that those are your two only choices.

Riza has spoken previously how he needs two more players and has sent a shortlist over to the club for them to be followed up on.
We all know that means pushed under the rug and not listened to, but Riza HAS spoken about transfers.

Doubt we'll see much movement until the end of the window when players not wanted by other clubs will become available.

I predict the normal promises and promising noises, like our manager today, then no signings.
“We tried but couldn’t get anyone”

“We tried but couldn’t get anyone”
There would be no point in buying players ‘
just to keep the supporters happy’ and there was one January window where we were told ‘
we just couldn’t get the players we felt would improve the squad’
The real question is ‘
do we trust that they are trying and are honest with their intentions and communications?’
That’s a toughie to answer in reality; but I do believe Omer Riza is ‘
trying’ to bring in fresh players; the issue will likely be ‘
who is available, at what cost, and will they be better than what we have?’
Going to be an interesting month but I’m not expecting too much as things stand
