Advice about buying a house in Canton/Riverside

Anyone know if Canton/Riverside still gets flooded from the Taff? Looking online it last got flooded in 1979, anyone know if flood defences were erected after the 1979 flood?

Cheers Allan, I think the barriers are doing their job, the river bank is all stone along Sophia gardens. Perhaps that was built up after 79. The photos of Canton in flood are crazy, upto 5 foot in places.

Most of the flooding is higher up the taff pontypridd ect....pontcanna fields get waterlogged but no serious flooding that I can remember just excess water but never say never as we know storm berty recently didn't cause major problems so that is an indicator flooding is not an issue unless live next to river at pontcanna or Llandaff
