Bad news " Aaron Ramsey & David Turnbull "

Wed Jan 01, 2025 10:43 pm

Aaron Ramsey and David Turnbull look set to be out of action until at the minimum March or even April.

Ramsey has been here nearly two seasons.
Ramsey 17 appearances, mainly as Sub out of over 70 Matches.

I personally think Ramsey should call it a day with us.

17 appearances, mainly as Sub out of over 70 Matches.

I agree.

It's sad because he's such a good player, but his fitness just isn't there anymore.

I know he wants to play in the World Cup but he should stop playing and go into coaching full time.

No surprise with Ramsey.
Shame about Turnbull

Is Rambo doing anything behind the scenes; like helping the squad and/or the youngsters?

I’d love to see him play and make a difference to the side but we cannot simply be a conduit for an international ‘au revoir’. That simply wouldn’t be right, fair, or proper

Equally, I see a future with us at the CCS beyond his playing contract and we should (if we are not already) be helping him towards that end :ayatollah:

Player coach could work ? Other elder statesman players have done it and it offset his wages..

I really feel for Turnbull as he took a while to kick his Cardiff City career off, and had some good performances and worked himself into the team.

Rambo is now starting to hurt us financially. Imagine reinvesting his wages into a quality goal-scorer.

Get rid of Ramsey at the earliest opportunity. No room for sentiment when he’s costing us what he is.

That’s the harsh financial reality of it right there.

I have EVERY sympathy for our injured players and wish Ramsey well. BUT he continuously breaks down and there is no way he’ll play this season. He earns a very big way by our clubs standards. I will be spitting if he plays for Wales and gets injured. With this in mind we could give him a contract but only pay as you play. This is only fair to our club and I honestly believe he owes us something in return. But as I said - I do wish him well.

Said when we knew he was coming he be a waste of money and I got called all sorts on here. Knew his days of playing was over tbh. If only he was 20 odd again but he would be sold fast if so :bluescarf:

Said it before and my opinion hasn’t changed, that Ramsey should hang up his boots now.

Not only is he rarely fit, but he isn’t what we should be spending all of that money on, it would be better on a striker.

Ramsey was a terrible signing and it was pretty predictable what would happen, with his injury record
Obviously a great player in the past, but taking a huge chunk of wages

Turnbull was playing really well before his injury it’s our luck init

he was only at the club to make the club money on his return.
I feel if Bale ever joined us when he was talked about years ago it would be similar.
although it was nice to see him play for us when he joined us 2 years ago, i just think that he should just retire.
and earn his coaching badges and maybe be a coach in the future or a pundit on sky.
its such a shame for him because im guessing this is not what he wanted his time at the club to be.

Couldn’t believe Rambo and Bellamy thought it was sensible for him to take part in that game. The conditions were awful and there wasn’t any need for him to play. It was odds on he’d pick up an injury with the pitch as wet and soft as it was. It looks like this is his last season, now.
Shame that it didn’t work out for him and us. A great player.
But I think him being here impacted on Robertsons decision to sign for us. Which has been a blessing.
