Huddersfield Town fan here in peace. There are strong rumours that we're looking to sign Kion Etete from you guys.
Anything you can tell us about him? Strengths, weaknesses, that sort of thing.
Thanks in advance, and good luck for the rest of the season (especially against our friends from the top of the M621).

A very frustrating player, lazy and weak for his size. He has flashes of brilliance that give you hope but no consistency. I hope he thrives wherever he moves next as his time at Cardiff hasn’t been a success.

He’s dog shit. Big lad but no physical presence. Head like a 50p. More sick notes than Keifer Moore (c**t). I’m fitter than him at 64 years of age with full hip and knee replacement

He has a fair bit of potential, good with the ball at his feet, needs to work on his strength and finishing.
The problem is he is almost always injured..

He still has potential and good with ball at feet as a target man. Much to improve and will never score loads but with the right coaching and no injuries he could be a gem for you

His highlight of last season was putting it over from 2 yards of an open net against WBA away (search the highlights).
Zero minutes this year, so a less "impressive" highlight reel to last season.
He's a bit like Danny Ward, minus the goals, impact on games, experience and robustness.

Bambi on ice, always injured, 3 goals a season
For a big man is surprisingly weak in the air and has no physical strength whatsoever
Your more than welcome to him

He is still young. If he stays clear of injury he could be an excellent buy for you. In a couple of years the same people scapecoating him now will be asking why our Board let a 6’6” 21 year old go for next to nothing.
In the meantime we will prob struggling with an ageing Robinson in Div One.

Very good player has a lot of goals in him strong aggressive i think you should pay at least 10 million for him

Some funny replies here.
I'm surprised there is interest in him. Anyone taking him on is gambling as he has not done anything of worth here and seems to be injury prone.

Always found him weak in challenges, looking for a free kick rather than trying to get forward.
I would take him over Kanga though.
Be good to have another option up top!

I've seen more life in a tramps vest.

I believe if he can overcome his injuries then he could well have a good career in football but it is a big if. He hasn’t really ever had a long run in the team and his age and height are definitely an advantage. Just needs to build up his strength.
When we had that unbeaten run under Riza when the football was quite refreshing to see, a few posters believed when he was due back from injury before his inevitable setback that he would fit in very well with that team.
I would definitely keep him for a longer period on the assumption his wages aren’t extortionate.

He’s like one of those wobbly shopping trolleys that you get in Asda or Tesco.
On the surface, looks like it should be able to get the job done and do it well, but when you actually get to see it in action, you’d wish you picked a different one.

He’s almost 24 not 21 and has scored a combined total of 11 goals in his 6 year career and is very, very injury prone…I very much doubt if any of us will be questioning why we let him go!!

Ok my mistake he is not 21, but he has just had his 23 rd birthday end Nov. (Not almost 24£. Also his appearances for City have often been as a sub and hes scored in roughly every 9 appearances for us ( many as a sub) wheras Ruben Colwill scores about 1 in 17 appearances.
But its “lies damn lies and statistices” eg Robinson has a far better scoring record but does bugger all when not in possession and so we concede more. Anyway imo if he stays fit and works a bit harder, then he will be a decent player.

The yardstick shouldn't be Rubins goals; is that really a measure of success?? Try someone like Chopra, Earnshaw or even someone that gets double figures.

So, to summarise, he's piss weak, absolute shite and horribly injury prone.
He sounds like the sort of striker our recruitment team would love.
Thanks all.

I think Etete has great potential, and would be an asset to a team in the welsh league, or lower.

You've got it!
Would be plenty of Cardiff fans happy to drive him up to Huddersfield.
Good luck for the rest of the season - we'll probably be visiting you next season the way things are going for us.

Guys! We’re selling, we need to be talking him up to this lad. So he can tell everyone on their fan forum.

I think that ship has sailed judging by most of the replies.

Good post

I always give players a chance before I criticise them too much.
I think some are being a bit OTT about Etete, he offers more than Meite and Kanga (not difficult) in my opinion.
Obviously has had his injury problems but so have a lot of our players. That suggests it's a problem with the club, more than with the player.
Do I think he will score plenty of goals in the Championship? No, but the OP supports a team in League One.
Etete is capable of doing a job in that league. He won't hold the ball up well but he is relatively good at attacking the ball with his head and does seem to get himself in the right positions.
Over a full season in League One, wouldn't surprise me if he hit double figures.
He certainly needs a move, just not working for him with us. Could be an Ebou Adams situation - struggles to get into our team but moves on to Derby and does very well.

We destroy strikers, he might thrive elsewhere
He’s been injury prone in a struggling team since he joined.
We had no creativity and wingers who could t cross, then we had no pace, now we have some pace (not bags of it mind you) and nobody who can hold the ball up, and as he has been injured all season it’s hard to judge him under this current system.
A loan away to Huddersfield could be the making of him, he’s a gamble at this moment that could go either way

I’d gladly drive him to Huddersfield and actually pay you guys £10 to take the useless gutless piece of crap of our hands!!
He may be 6ft 2 but he jumps like a dwarf and has the touch or a donkey. Shocking excuse of a footballer.
