CCFC TODAYS TEAM NEWS: COLWILL & TANNER START

Sat Jan 04, 2025 2:00 pm

Cardiff, incredibly, were unsuccessful in their appeal against Callum Robinson's red and as a result he misses today and two more games.

It means Cardiff go without a recognised striker, with Tanner, Colwill and Ashford the front three. Meite and Kanga remain on the bench.

Andy Rinomhota keeps his place at right back despite Perry Ng's return. Four defenders on the bench shows how light City are in attacking options.

I'm guessing the appeal for Robinson's red card was unsuccessful.

Not sure about Colwill playing, but hopefully he proves me wrong.

Tough game - would definitely take a point.

If was unsuccessful no news outlets are running the story?
Club can't keep it quiet as it's an outside organisation that makes decision.. . only explanation I can think of is club didn't appeal and told no one... or he's injured and hney hold no one.. another odd moment in life of city.

Borley said on Twitter this morning that we did appeal it.

I’m a bit surprised as I would have gone with meite up front with Ashford on the right as he’s been really impressive there in the last few weeks. Meite actually looked decent when he came on against Coventry and was bullying defenders. However happy to be proved wrong. Bluebirds!!

Did Borley say it was the fans fault for not pretesting enough :laughing6:

Judas Borley is tuning into another Tony Clemo - and we all know what happened there!

Says everything aboutKanga and Miete that they don’t start and we prefer to go with no recognised centre forward.
More damming about the club recruitment too as we don’t need to recruit a striker according to the club

What's happened with Reindorf? Could of been put on bench at least surely?

Is the cup game inclusive of the three games? If so will Robbo be able to play against the Jerks?

Looks like the intention is to defend for 90 plus minutes.

I guess that selection confirms that City (unfortunately) are selling Etete. Why else leave him off the bench? But include Kanga and Meite.
