BREAKING OMER RIZA ON NEW PLAYERS COMING IN:

Tue Jan 07, 2025 3:47 pm

Update:

£1Million Cash Will be Triggered by Mark McGuinness 25th appearance for Luton

He has also been capped at International level by R.O.I

City came out with nearly £5mill from the sale of McGuinness and are now set for an extra £1mill.

Omer Riza:

"I can't elaborate on deals or players coming in.”

"At the moment, all we can say is that the discussions are taking place.”

“There are obstacles in the way which we've spoken about previously, which is whether players want to come to our club.”

“Also whether we can afford them to play for our club.”

“Whether it's right for us to bring those players in and whether they'll be impactful.”

“We have to make sure we get that right. But definitely the process has begun for three or four players to come in.”

“We had everything in place, but obstacles have changed it, but we are moving in the right direction on who we want.”

I'm hopeful but......I've heard this sort of speak before and there's the start of some excuses there already.

I see Riza is already laying the groundwork for when we sign nobody at the end of the window.

Their excuse will be Davies is coming back from injury and Simic is back from his loan. Those options aren't enough.

But I will say, unless we sign 3/4 Championship level players then we are going down.

Certainly looks that way doesn't it?

Has McGuiness already played 25 games for Luton or has he a few left to go?

I remember a few years ago we had a few players who were not picked because if they were it would have cost us either more in transfer fees or would lead to a contract extension.

Am I right in thinking Gaerth Whalley was one such player?

Same message…different manager.
This is what happens with a yes man in charge

You could argue we deserve the drop as atleast some of the other struggling clubs are trying to improve their squads with new signings…eg Oxford.

Re: BREAKING OMER RIZA ON NEW PLAYERS COMING IN:

Tan has backed himself into a corner on two fronts

1- He cannot afford for us to drop into L1
2- He will want to prove the disprovers wrong on Riza and prove he can see talent

I think Tan will spend as he has done in the last 12 months on younger players with potential upsides. So i can see the truth in the POSH player and possibly others.

Do you think an experienced manager would put his hands in his own pockets for transfers because I fail to see what difference a non yes man would make to the transfer amount available with the present regime so please enlighten me. Maybe you think a non yes man would just say that Tan is an idiot & needs to leave the club & magically Tan would change, I don't understand the thought process here.

There isn't any confidence in the board doing things right.I don't trust in them one single bit so I'm sitting back and see what happens. Am I hopefully they will come through yes do I trust they will come through NO not a single bit .
All I no is we are desperate for a striker and some pace .Get this right and we may stay up get it wrong again and we are screwed so your trust is in a board I don't trust .Very worried about thus window but let's wait and see hope we are all happy

Talk is CHEAP ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS FANS ARE NO MUGS PROVE ME WRONG PLEASE RIZA

Re: BREAKING OMER RIZA ON NEW PLAYERS COMING IN:

I remember Antonio Conte used to go mad with this sort of questions/pressure.

Omer Riza is the manager, but he is not, he is the first team head coach. The manager should be responsible for senior player recruitment as Fergie oe Warnock were back in the day, but Cardiif "Managers" get given players from the club (whoever that is).

So "the club" should speak about recruitment strategy and progress, not the first team "Manager".

A yes man suits the narrative on here always as done .....tan is simply wants total control so doesn't matter if a coach is a yes man no man or snowman results are the same..

If nobody comes in i will lost my last bit of faith in riza after spouting this and that
And its not as if we are' nt desperate for and injection of quality players now not next month.

Re: BREAKING OMER RIZA ON NEW PLAYERS COMING IN:

Tue Jan 07, 2025 6:20 pm

As ever. Total rubbish. No intention of signing anyone of value. This speak has been heard so many times before. At the end of the transfer window the trusted quote will come out- ‘ we couldn’t get it over the line’

Re: BREAKING OMER RIZA ON NEW PLAYERS COMING IN:

Agree with many sentiments here.
What 'obstacles' are these then!? Elaborate please.

Same old mealy mouthed, tired platitudes.

If we don't sign some pace and goals, we're down, end of, so just cut to the chase Tan, stop the bull5shit.

That's a little like blaming the cashier at Tesco for the prices in the store, she/he doesn't make the prices up depending on their mood that day. He has nothing to do with who comes in really as he doesn't put his own hand in his own pocket to buy the players we need. Doesn't matter who the manager is either if the overlord doesn't want to spend money no amount of blaming the wrong person is going to change that. Your anger needs to be directed at Tan not Riza as he's not the person buying the players.

How many of these so called younger potential players that you say Tan has invested in have turned out quality or really made it?

McGuiness
Tanner
Turnbull
Robertson
Daland
Fish
Simic

I think the model is there, that is who we are paying fee's for

Now is not the time for ‘potential’; we need players who can get us out of this worrying mess…! :ayatollah:

Don' t worry about my anger towards mr tan i have just picked up my banner today with Tan out
I disagree with you about riza i had respect for bulut because he honestly said it as it was,
he was in the dark etc about transfers rather than make a list of excuses he clearly laid it at tans door plus also said what he required.

Correct Chris.

That's why Joel Colwill has to stay out on loan and we need to bring in Championship level players.

Like groundhog day once again.

Every window we never sign anyone early and lay the excuses once it opens. It's like we are wanting to go down I don't get it as it's been coming for three seasons already sadly.

We ship out our youngsters reindorf colwill and replace with 2 youngsters possibly from peterborough to stay up perhaps we could do with sime experienced champiinship players.
