" Premier League club appoint new manager "

Wed Jan 08, 2025 7:23 pm

West Ham United have sacked Julen Lopetegui after just six months in charge. He has been replaced by Graham Potter.

They finished 9th in the Premier League last season but decided not to keep David Moyes as manager.

Lopetegui replaced him in the summer but his team have struggled for results and sit 14th.

Potter has been out of work since 2023, when he left Chelsea.

I’m not so sure about Potter.

He did good work at Brighton but so have his replacements, arguably even better.

Failed at Chelsea and hasn’t worked since.

It's a risk for sure.

I expect they massively regret letting Moyes go. Had them in 9th last season and did a good job in whole time there, winning a European trophy.

Football not always pretty with Moyes but he got the results.

Interesting to see how he gets on with both Antonio and Bowen out for a while - might get the Jan transfer window to use .
