" Joe Ralls "

Thu Jan 09, 2025 6:40 pm

Making his 400th appearance for Cardiff City tonight.

He's had more than his fair share of stick from fans over the years, but what a servant he's been to the club since signing from Farnborough in 2010.

Unfortunately I think because of his fitness, the days of him starting Championship games week after week are gone.

But I do believe his experience means he still has something to offer in this relegation battle over the next few months.

Beyond that, it seems like he will probably move on at the end of the season and I'm sure all fans will wish him well.

Just thought it was worth acknowledging, as he reaches this milestone tonight.

The phrase club legend is thrown around way too much nowadays, but I think it more than applies to Rallsy.

I always rated Joe Ralls and defended him when he was the Forum ‘Boo Boy’ a couple of seasons ago; but I personally wouldn’t call him a ‘legend’; but that is not to demean his loyalty and outstanding contribution to the club over the years…

Congratulations to Joe Ralls on his achievement…!

Will he be here next season? I wouldn’t rule it out; but it will depend on how he contributes in the run-in and which League we are in next…!

What a drab game for such a big accomplisment.

In his best years, he was quality. Still gives every ounce of effort.

A great career for us!!

I love Joe ralls. I know he hasn’t got the legs he used to but there are certain games you just need him in for his fight and determination. Not to mention his set piece delivery which we’re seeing tonight. Well done rallsy a true club legend

400th game for us tonight, came through from the academy as their player or the season the year prior to his 1st team run.

Think he’d be better utilised now in the last 20/30 mins of a match

Absolute grafter, and what an achievement for him!

As some have said, he’s no longer an automatic starter, simply because of his fitness.
However, for years we have always played better when Rallsy has started.

Hasn’t got the legs he used to, but when you’re in a tight game, competing for everything, he’s exactly the guy you want in the middle of the park.
Can grind it with the best in the division, play a pass, and control the middle.

Hope he signs on for at least another couple years.

He’s a Cardiff legend in my eyes
What a grafter , solid tackler , his commitment and attitude is 100 percent through out his career , a player for the youngsters to learn from and is a perfect role model of how a footballer should be
Well done rallsy boy :bluebird:

Spot on!

That tackle he put in in our penalty box against Coventry when he came on sums him up perfectly.

Top man, top player and a Cardiff Legend. I hope he stays on to coach in the academy once he hangs up his boots but I'd love one more season from him first.

I seem to remember Ralls coming off the bench as an 18 year old for his debut, a weedy looking kid with a crew cut. But I remember him getting stuck in to the opposition in the middle of the park and he kicked a few of them. We all loved him straight away for that. 400 games, nice one Joe. :occasion5:
