Player rejects transfer to Cardiff City – Doesn’t think they’re a big enough club

There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Antalyaspor midfielder Jakub Kaluzinski has rejected a transfer to Cardiff City.

The Championship side are looking to bolster their squad in this transfer window following their struggles in the league this season, but it seems they may have to look at alternatives.

Resat Can Ozbudak reports via social media that Cardiff City have tabled an official offer with Antalyaspor to sign the Poland international this month.

The 22-year-old has impressed for the Super Lig side since his move from Lechia Gdańsk, and was linked with a transfer to Celtic during the last summer window.

However, the midfielder has turned down the chance to sign for Cardiff City because he’s holding out for a bigger club, according to the Turkish journalist.

We covered claims from Turkey during the summer that Celtic had been monitoring Kaluzinski and that an offer in the region of €4m could get a deal done for the player.

La Liga side Real Valladolid were also said to be interested, with reports they were in talks to sign him.

Kaluzinski has made 12 league appearances for Antalyaspor this season and is contracted until June 2026, with the option of another year.

League position and wages would be his main thoughts I’d imagine and I can understand why he’s holding out for bigger if he’s that good.
May be a case of watch this space or may be old (Bulut) news?

Unless we pay over the odds wages wise we won’t attract any decent players

Lower league transfers or lower quality Premier league youngsters on loan is the best we can hope for

People need to understand that at the moment we are not a big club that cant attract better players

Paying over odds as always happened due to where we are located swans same! Players very choosy where they live and play ...... clubs pay enough Players will go anywhere as we've seen with moore recently....are we actually in for this guy probably not just agent bigging him up for move to premier league....

Exactly Annis. The club rarely tell the truth re transfers. A third of the way through the month and no signings. It won’t happen. It’s the hope that kills. Mark my words at the end of the transfer window we will hear the same cliche ‘ we couldn’t get it over the line’. Makes me sick.

While we all know club will make the excuses couldn't persuade him to come or to expensive... (already the case for jones) at moment it's a slow start to transfer window in general but garauntee teams like plymouth will sighn players to help them avoid drop...... meanwhile we will be on a wing and prayer that current squad will get us out of the mess we're in? Sadly they'll fail I fear.
