Yousef Salech's strengths

Wed Jan 15, 2025 1:01 pm

Yousef Salech, 22, ST, IK Sirius, 195 cm

Strengths: Aerial duels, finishing, positioning, physicality, hold-up play, goal-scoring instincts, work rate

Similar profile: Mitrović

The perfect modern striker, one of the best in Allsvenskan.

Not had a Cap for Denmark yet.

UNT journalist Daniel Meisels, who covers Sirius.

"During last summer he suffered an injury that kept him out for at least a month, after that he didn't preform as well as before and has not been the same.”
.
“He apparently played with some pain, too. But he had a very good first season, you must say. He had some interest around him during the summer, but Sirius decided to keep him hoping he would do as well as his first season.”

With those strengths, I'm expecting a rough diamond / new Erling Haaland! ;-)

I’ve got access to Wyscout and have just had a little look at him.

I’m hoping he doesn’t get snapped up by someone else.

Got to be better than:-

Wilfred Kanga, 47, ST (apparently)Hertha Berlin, length of shorts - 195 cm.

Strengths; Bench warming

The opposite of the perfect modern striker, one of the worst in the EFL

Looks a real gamble as played lower standard than Championship, I bet he’s half a mill with add ons?

He has no strengths in the championship, unproven. Another gamble on a foreign player. Let's hope this one pays off.

Problem is that if you want a proven Championship striker that will cost you at least £10m. We can't spend that.

Then you have to remember a lot of players won't want to join a club in a relegation fight.

All the stats in terms of how he plays suggests he could be perfect for the Championship.

We can't complain about no signings and then write them off before they've even kicked a ball, that helps nobody.

Not another injured dud I hope. We've had a long line of them: Vassel, Maynard, Fowler, Meite (to a degree). Welcome to Crock City, home for footballers who've been diminished by prior injuries!

Welcome to the donkey sanctuary
He does "sound" better though.

Sorry to be positive, but are these signs that the club is adapting and learning?

These staged deals are better as if he is a dud its only a million, if he is any good we get a striker, and if he is very good we get 75% of the profit.

That's because the Swedish season ended in November.

What about Don(key) Murray and Don(key) Cowie?

Re: Yousef Salech's strengths

Let's hope he's nothing like the last Dane donkey we signed. Although there's no way I bet riza even knows who this player is in my opinion it's a board signing once again. Just waiting for a "YouTube" video of how good he is and the praise to pop up now although I've seen all that crap before and it goes pear shaped as they have come from a div 2 standard more or less.

I hope to god he makes a difference to this set up and we actually signed a player who's fit and ready to go with no excuses for once as I'm sick of seeing the same thing for months or weeks while we getting beat and no sign of them or we are going down in my opinion.

He’s 22 and we’ve not seen him play yet…. However, our “support” ers have already written him off as a dud.

I’m not saying Kanga is great, far from it, but he’s only played 452minutes for us…. 5 games and that time has been spread over 15 appearances. He obviously has an application of talent problem

Saying that some of our current strikers couldn't even lace up Paul Brayson boots that's how bad we have gone up front for a good few years

When I think how critical some fans were about Kenwyn Jones at the time. Can you imagine how much of a difference he would make to the current team. Just goes to show how far we've fallen.
