BREAKING: BLUEBIRD ‘FLOP’ CLOSE TO EXIT

Cardiff City striker set for exit to Champions League club as deal imminent

The Bluebirds are looking to let go of the striker and he looks to have sealed a move away

Cardiff City striker Wilfried Kanga is closing in on a move to Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb, according to reports.

Dinamo Zagreb have been keen to bolster their attack this month and it is understood that they were keen on Yousef Salech, however the Bluebirds appear to have beaten them to his signature.

Cardiff have been keen to offload Kanga, who has been a major disappointment since being loaned from Hertha BSC in the summer, having scored no goals in his 16 Bluebirds appearances. Sign up to our daily Cardiff City newsletter here.

And according to Croatian outlet Germanijak.hr, the Zagreb club are close to securing a deal for the 26-year-old. The report adds that Dinamo Zagreb initially sounded out Hertha over a loan deal, but it now looks as if a permanent deal could be struck to take the player to Croatia.

The club, who are due to play Arsenal in the Champions League next week and are managed by Italian great Fabio Cannavaro, is set to offer the Ivorian a three-year deal. The transfer appears close, too, because it is reported that he will be available for Zagreb's game against Istra this Saturday.

It solves a potential problem for Cardiff, with yet another player out of the 25-man squad, along with Ryotaro Tsunoda following his loan exit to KV Kortrijk, with Salech's arrival to be confirmed soon.

Ned, let’s hope this goes ahead…

No offence to Wilfred Kanga personally but it’s safe to say it hasn’t worked out for either party, so a move away is best for all concerned… :ayatollah:

Looks like the Kanga saga is over. Reports in Croatia say he has signed a three-year deal with Dinamo Zagreb.

Zero goals in 16 Bluebirds appearances for the striker - it's been a terrible stint but the problem seems to have been solved for Cardiff.

Always seems odd strikers fail here and then go on to better things... is it the player or the culture/atmosphere around the club?

If he's off to a big club like Zagreb I'd be interested to see how he fares.

As for us, last time we had anybody you could label as a striker was Keiffer Moore 5 years ago! Shocking really, and no coincidence that we've been flirting with relegation every season since he left.

I’m sure he can’t wait to hop off. Pouched a good deal too.

Great news.

He has to be one of the worst loan signing's in a long time.

Hat-trick on his champions league debut for them, watch this space!

So glad to hear this. Our worst possible transfer window would be no-one to come in but retain Kanga. It hasn't worked, at all.

There's been plenty we've signed but we've managed to turn them all into donkeys, we seem to have a knack for it.

If we win on Saturday I want to see Riza standing in front of the vermin doing the Ayatollah.

Sick of watching their managers doing the swim away in front of our fans in their shithole ground.

Better still, he should just jump into the away end and celebrate right in front of Trundle (who I assume will be there because he loves the publicity).

According to 24sata, Zagreb are going to fork out £2.5m for the forward to take him on a three-year deal from Hertha…! :o

Wish him the best but he’s not cut out for a league like the EFL.

Wanted by a champions league team but possibly the most lazy uninterested player I’ve ever seen put on our shirt .I cannot believe he is the same player that we seen in his dreaded YouTube reel .Did he ever really want to be here or has he off field problems we don’t know of which have effected him .
