" OMER RIZA SAYS FANS HAVE THE RIGHT TO PROTEST "

Thu Jan 16, 2025 5:22 pm

"Fans will always have potential issues about goings on at the club. As long as it doesn't affect what we do on the pitch and they’re supporting us, I like to stay out of the political side of it."

OMER RIZA:

"I don’t like to comment on any political aspects of the club. I’ve been here this year, I don't know what the last 10 or 12 years have been like, only things I've heard and seen.

All I can say is the period I’ve been at the club, the way I’ve been treated by staff, fans, players, the press, by the owner, by Mehmet [Dalman, chairman], by Ken [Choo, CEO], I can’t possibly comment on what's happened.

We’re trying to get ourselves out of trouble. That’s my main concern. I am trying to do that. I don’t hold any grudges against fans – they are the people who support the club and are the life and essence of the club.

Fans will always have potential issues about goings on at the club. As long as it doesn't affect what we do on the pitch and they’re supporting us, I like to stay out of the political side of it.

Let's just hope we can keep growing together, from the top to the bottom."

Riza said we are tying to get out of trouble
We have been trying as fans for years,
and its TAN that has put us there but lowest crowds for years say's it all,
and our league position
Hence the protest we have been patient long enough,
and througout home and away we have supported the team but we don' t want to be silenced.

Good points made there, Monty…

To be fair to Riza, he hasn’t said we should be ‘silenced’. Indeed, he says he ‘understands’ and that supporters will have ‘issues’ with their club but the important thing is we support the team when it matters…

I genuinely believe most do (support the team) when it matters and this Saturday is an important day on both fronts, i.e. the importance of the march followed by the importance of the Welsh ‘derby

The two can and should be separated…! :ayatollah:

Correct Chris.

Pleased that Riza hasn't tried to talk fans out of protesting.

Both the fans who have organised this and Riza have said the team will be supported when it comes to the game :thumbright:

Don' t see why we cannot protest inside the stadium and support the team why seperate ? Are you saying Leave outside sloper road or the stadium ? Nothing wrong in my book chanting tan out within the stadium
Would rather that ,
than sh.gg.d by your fathers song which i do not join in with.

Yea we do have the right ,we were supporting and following this club long before he came along and we be still here long after he’s gone so doesn’t make a slight difference what he thinks to be honest we do our job and he better crack ion and do his job. if everything at the club was run like it should be we wouldn’t need to protest .

We have been supporting the team all season ,
but i detect a bit of,

No shouldn't protest in ground as our position is precarious plus who are we playing? Last thing need is a distraction for players.....any other game yes but bot this one

No one is advocating disruption like reading throeing tennis bslks on the pitch but chanting tan out really whilst also singing sh.gg.d by your fathers and singing city songs but the odd tan out sang in the stadium is not on in your book?

There's chanting and there's disruption think my point is well defined what I meant by disruption .... chants are not disruptive behaviour never implied it.. monty

Mine is pretty plain also chanting the odd tan out song when appropriate in the middle of game substitutions stop in play half time etc?
