Callum Robinson becomes only the 4th player to score 10 non-penalty goals in the Championship this season (Sainz, Maja, Piroe).

Very impressive for a relegation-battling team and a little under the radar!

Great return, he's had some time out of the team, also.

His "turn and finish" is becoming a bit of a trademark.

Very impressive indeed. We are so lucky to have him image his return if he had players his level around him.
I feel he brings so much more apartment from the goals. He’s a born winner and his encouragement to the younger players and the way he buys into the team ethic is phenomenal.

I can never understand the stick Robbo gets on the forum. He’s on 10 goals in half a season and everyone’s been screaming out that we need to sign a 20 goal a season striker. He’s doing a decent job. And runs his arse off every game.

Scoring 2 great goals against the jacks I love the man

Except he doesn't run his arse off at all. He was screaming at his own players during the first half because the ball wasn't where he thought it should be. He can be very lazy if things aren't going his way but he's totally different once he scores.

Re: " Callum Robinson "

I stood by him even when others didn't last season and for once I was right.

If Bulut had shown the same faith in him last season we might have made the playoffs instead of persisting with Etete and Meite.

He is our best striker by a mile. He did it the first season until he got injured and proved today he can do it in the big games.

That first goal today is ridiculous weaker foot across the keeper superb goal.

Wow. You’re a bundle of laughs. Finding negatives and moaning on a day like this.
No wonder we are where we are.
Enjoy the win and great performance mate.

Must admit I was one of the people who had written him off. His attitude didn't seem right last season.

But by his own admission, he's sorted that out this season.

Ten non-penalty goals by the middle of January is a great return, especially considering his injuries.

Pressure on him now with Salech threatening to take his place but he stepped up when needed today.

Hes a striker and big performers and possibly thinking if he doesn't react and bollock players they won't get uo to their standards

He’s been amazing this season, 10 goals in 21 games for a struggling side! Hope he signs another contract or we could lose a lot of goals next season.

Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realize having an opinion different to yours made me worthy of your abuse. It doesn't mean I'm being negative, but you need to go ahead & pull your head out of your arse because one good half of football doesn't make him a world beater.

I will be in the minority but i wouldn't go mad on the new contract front.

two goals out of three was amazing yesterday, but for days like yesterday there was a whole season of nothing (6 goals 22/23 & 1 goal 23/24).

He is 30 is a few weeks and injury prone.

If the new lad is decent then he is the second striker/10 who runs a bit but his automatic brake assist ensures he doesn't actually make a contact with the defender or keeper.

I get it, he is an old-school pretty boy forward and as long as he scores he can do that all day long, but i love the old physical Cardiff has reappeared.

Tomlin looks class around renewal time as well.

Forwards are expensive and take a chunk of your budget, if he wants to be the main man I'd look elsewhere, if he wants to be part of the squad as a forward with all those rewards then he is an asset.

He’s not a 9 so for him to step up and be on track for 15 goals this season, that’s a great achievement.

Mine is, I think he’s quite unappreciated. I watch him a lot as he seemed to get a raw deal on here and I hadn’t noticed why. He covers a lot of ground every game and under Bulut we missed his closing down up front when taken off. Which cost us goals and points.
I genuinely don’t recall him him screaming at team mates yesterday, but I did see him telling them where he wanted the ball. Which I think every player should be doing if decent passes are not coming through. It raises standards.
He’s expected by us and the club to score goals, and rightly so. Therefore if he’s playing himself into positions to go on goal or lose defenders, give him the ball properly so he can concentrate on doing what’s expected of him.
Either way, he scored 2 yesterday and I see his contract finishes this season.
without yet having a new contract, we could see him leave on a free. Just like a lot of previous players we paid fees for under NW. he’ll certainly be in demand with at least 10 goals from open play this season.

Yes they are. :occasion5:

No idea where you were watching the game but he did it a couple of times, which he's allowed to of course, but to me he seems to expect every ball to be placed where he wanted it which seems to usually be on his foot so he doesn't have to put effort in. Thought he had an awful first half but was a world beater in the second which was fantastic to see but half a game won't change anyone's mind about him. I think his head dips way too fast a lot of times when things don't immediately go our way rather than getting stuck in like some.

I'm sure we would all love to see him end the season on 20 goals and be a roaring success because that would mean we got out of trouble but I'm not holding my breath. As someone else said, is he playing better because it's a contract season? Who knows, maybe it's because of the new guy coming in & he sees light at the end of the tunnel.

Like I said, half a game won't change my mind about him even if it was a great half. I put him down as my man of the match & long may it continue.

Everyone has different opinions of course. I’m assuming and I may be wrong that Welshman in CA
You watch most of the games on tv? If that’s the case you as I’m sure you can appreciate miss a lot of the off camera part of the game, which is why watching live is so much better. So your opinion can only be built from what you have viewed.

Yep, Long May it continue.
I don’t think he’s making an effort as his contract is coming up. He’s had various injuries here only getting back into things properly this season and not under Bulutball tactics (I was never a fan of his style) and I heard he had a huge fallout with Bulut-we won’t know if that’s a justified one, or a Billy big bollox one. But I always say when he stayed on the pitch for us for 15 mins or so with a badly torn hamstring as we’d used all subs, that commitment can’t be faked. That put his career at risk. I think he’s a passionate, committed player. I like him so I’ll always be biased.

As we move on, I’m looking forward to seeing if him, ashford and Salech can create some synergy and give us the forward line we’ve been craving for. Talking of which, I thought Ashford was a bit out of sorts yesterday. Shame as he’s had some cracking games lately. Couldn’t understand why Robertson was playing more upfield than he was. Maybe it was under instruction for Ashford to help Rhino with their winger.

Re: " Callum Robinson "

I was actually looking at the Championship stats last week and even before his goals this weekend he had one of the best goals to minutes played ratio in the league. He now pretty much has the best stats at a goal every 124 minutes. To put that into context the top scorer in the league, Borja Sainz, is on a goal every 153 minutes.

The key to success this season is keeping Robinson fit. We also need to give him a new contract as there will be plenty of other teams who will if we don't.

I thought his stat's may have been impressive coz when you take out his suspension and the fact we've gone with a false 9 a few times this season, he's possibly only made 20ish appearances...so a 10 goal return is excellent.

A new contract is a tough one. He's not my favourite player is the world coz he does sulk and feel sorry for himself a lot. Not sure we can call him a consistent performer either. Yet, when he's on form he's great. His first goal Sunday was fantastic.

I think Riza will wanna keep him.
