A forum for all things Cardiff City

Although City won, I was in the Granstand today, purely because my mate wasn’t going to to unless he had someone with him (his friend was working and could not go)
90% of you that were in the grandstand want to be ashamed of ourselves.
There was a group of us trying to get behind the team and continue the chants around the stadium. You all sat there as if you had never been to a city game before

It wasn’t ridiculous Allan.
When I was carrying on the chants from the canton people looked as though I was an alien. No passion from any of them.
Hold their heads in shame if they are actual Cardiff fans.

It's always the same in there sadly. When we've had big moments like today, I've looked over at that stand before and it seems like they're the only home supporters not enjoying it.
Understand if they don't want to stand (some can't) but have heard before they can be anti-fans making some noise in there.

It was more than ‘can’t stand’
It was more like ‘don’t know why I’m here’
Absolute disregard to the occasion just to say ‘I’ve been to Cardiff v Swansea’
If they are actually a Cardiff fan then they should hold their heads in shame

I have sat in level 4 for years The vast majority around me have been there for many years and have supported city for 30/40 years Many I remember standing on the bob bank with back in 70s and 80s
Many are now less vocal than they use to be for sure but they pay there money and can choose how to watch the team as they want.
To be straight if you want to get chants going the grandstand is not the place to be It was the same in the grandstand at NP.
However don’t think for one moment they a lesser supporter than others

Well said. I am 68, cut my City teeth at the back of the old Grangend and now stand in the middle of the Canton, as do many others of my generation. But I also have friends who sit in the Grandstand who been all over the country with the City - sometimes getting a battering for their support at places like Leeds and Millwall !! Just because they may be less vocal these days doesn't make them any less of a fan.

I was in grandstand for this fame. Diamond suite.
A few pockets singing now and then. Me up on my own! But I realised it's a class type thing. Carpet, meals, ex players, sponsors etc.
An etiquette of formality mixed with a piss up - like a wales rugby type thing...
You can't then stand up and sing. Especially certain songs!! I think many want too in there but follow the satus quo...
Many are genuine supporters who have grown older too. Left the moshing alone!
Their still big City fans though
"If I had the wings of a sparrow
And I had the arse of a cow...."

Go to level 4 and its a big mix of old city fans probably of 40yrs standing and younger ones 10yrs or less ! Certainly can be vocal and noisy..... but your right it is a class thing Grandstand area more posher than level 4 ....
