El Ghazi

Have been really disappointed with him this season but looked a real threat today when he came on so credit where credit's due.

Hope he can keep it up for the rest of the season as an on-form El Ghazi could be a major asset going forward this season.

I was surprised. Given how he's been so far, I was expecting him to constantly lose the ball and not put in the effort.

But he was brilliant.

If he can play like that every week, we'll be in a much better place.

Can see him being used a lot to put in crosses (because Salech is so big).

Yes he looked threatening and chose to take them on with positivity for a change it is something we need If going to utilise salech to his potential.

Definitely his best game for us by far, pushed off the ball a little easily but if he can run around them & get a good cross in then more power to him.

I agree. He changed the game for us. Was dangerous and delivered some good crosses. Undoubtedly a class player as his CV will backup. Has been off it so but hopefully things can kick on now. Would be like a new signing

Yes, El Ghazi has been disappointing. Just not been at the races and loses the ball to easily. Seemed to find some form before picking up a knock which was a shame. Caused problems when he came on. If we can see the best of him it could really push us up the table.

Agree again this is exactly how I saw it. He looked very determined and out to prove a starting position. Free kick was close also.

Best game in a city shirt The player marking him did not know which way he was going to go Class cross that was head ed over bar

El Ghazi has a lot of baggage, with how other clubs have treated him and he has not played since 2022.

He is a player once worth £10m who needs to find himself again.

I am happy to give him twelve months by which time I think he will be back to normal. We saw signs of that last night, and I think he will soon be one of our most valuable players.

The issue is he does his 12 months and we get him back playing and he moves on I think his contract is just for this season

He was fantastic last night.

I do question if not having a solid striker upfront had maybe changed his play style.

Yesterday he was attacking the defenders and putting some brilliant crosses in.

Was his lack of form a combination of not playing for 12 months coupled with lack of belief in our upfront options previously?

Big critic of him, but last night I ate humble pie! He made a difference. Good quality and work rate. Good off the ball work too! More of the same please Anwar!

Hope he's not "doing a Tomlin" and suddenly finding his best form just as his contract is coming to an end!

To be fair to him he does not have a history of doing it like Tomlinson did

Could it be because he had a target for him to find in salech?
Coincidence maybe! :o

or maybe the break from the first team has given him timecto get over any fitness issues as he looked a lot sharper last night.
